Her vintage style dress is a deep midnight blue, almost black, with a white pinafore bodice, sleeves trimmed in white lace, and a white apron over her skirt. She wears black shoes with big gold buckles at her toes. Her dark blonde hair is styled in a fancy braided updo with tiny curls framing her face and she has beautiful brown eyes. Lovely and rare (1966 only) Madame Alexander doll Coco, approximately 20 tall. She is dressed as Melanie from Gone with the Wind, wearing the rarer green version of Melanies gown. The gown is more often found in blue. The gown is light green taffeta embellished with green velvet bows on the bodice and ecru lace on the bodice, long sleeves, and skirt. The skirt is very full and has vertical pleats in front. Under her dress she wears a full, multi-layer taffeta crinoline, panties, thigh-length stockings, and green velvet shoes. Her clothing is all original with no stains, holes, or tears. Jewelry includes her cameo necklace and a diamond ring on her left hand. Coco was named for the fashion designer Coco Chanel. Cocos face and body are unique among Madame Alexander dolls, made only in 1966. She has one of Alexanders loveliest faces, with sleep eyes that sometimes look blue and sometimes green, real upper eyelashes, individually stroked lower eyelashes that extend around the corner and above her eyes, multi-stroke eyebrows, a closed mouth with peachy-pink slightly smiling lips, and rosy cheeks. Her elegant golden blond rooted hair is in its original set with fringe bangs, lots of curls, and a thick braid from the right side across the top of her head. Her hair is decorated with palest pink cloth roses. Hair pins and hairnet are still in place. Cocos body is jointed at neck, shoulders, and swivel waist. Her lower torso and legs are molded in one piece so her legs do not move. She stands in a fashion model pose, with right leg slightly bent and left leg straight. Upper torso and lower torso/legs are made of plastic, head and arms are made of vinyl. Her fingernails are painted the same peachy-pink color of her lips. Coco as Melanie is a near mint doll. The elastic in her sleeves is stretched out and the elastic is not tight in the waist of her crinoline. Otherwise her clothing seems excellent. Her stringing is good and she can hold a pose, but her head does tend to lose its pose when she is moved. I removed her gown and crinoline to check her condition. I think her panties, hose, and shoes may never have been removed. As you can see in one of the photos, there are 3 tears in the plastic of her back. Otherwise, the doll and her costume seem flawless. VERY RARE MADAME ALEXANDER KATHRYN GRAYSON DOLL – THE MYSTERY DOLLS SERIES -1951. A Beautiful and VERY RARE Madame Alexander doll up for sale. This is the 21″ Mystery Portrait doll “Kathryn Grayson made in 1951. A true treasure that is 70 years old. She is made of hard plastic and has the gorgeous and desirable Margaret face, and is painted with elaborate make up. She has lovely arched eyebrows, beautiful green eyes, with thick, long lashes, and painted eyeliner and painted lashes on the outside of her eyes. She has full red lips and rosy cheeks, as well as painted red fingernails. Her shiny red hair is pulled back with cascading long curls down her back, in the original set. Her hair has beautiful original flowers with rhinestones attached. For accessories she has her original pearl drop earrings, and darling handbag covered in lace that matches her gown. Her gown is simply FABULOUS! It is covered in cream colored lace and netting, encrusted at the neckline and all over the bodice with rhinestones and cream lacy trims. The gown has light shelf dust. She has a silky cream underskirt, with matching silky underwear. She has on her original stockings and original shoes as well, all in very nice shape. She is really an amazing and very rare doll. For your Collecting pleasure. FABULOUS matched pair of large , 16″ tall, “Susie Q” and Bobby Q”, labeled , stuffed cloth character dolls by Madame Alexander from the 1938 comic strip. Susie still has her complete sewn-in label on her clothing: “Susie Q”/Madame Alexander, New York. They each have huge, painted blue. Side-glancing (googly shaped) eyes glancing to each other and matching red , white and blue. Felt and cotton outfits complete with matching felt shoes with spats. These sweet faced, early cloth dolls each have their original yarn hair, (Susie has black hair with scalloped bangs and long braids and Bobby has curly brown hair). They each have comical expressions, molded pug noses, long eyelashes and rosy cheeks. They also have molded flat feet to stand and mitt-shaped hands with separate thumbs. Susie has red striped legs and Bobby has blue striped legs. She wears her red and white polka dot printed dress with attached white petticoat and panties and pleated organdy collar beneath her fitted blue felt jacket and Bobby wears similar blue felt jacket over his red and white polka dot shorts with attached white cotton shirt, undies and red and white tie. Both wear their white felt spats with three button closures over their black felt shoes. One leg is a little tighter moving then the other. She is 62 Years old so she has some Minor scuffing any fine scuffs can be helped with Magic eraser or fine sanding paper. She has some marks on her hinny as seen in photo 8 may come off with the Magic Eraser. I tried to get her dress off to take a photo of her front but as I tried her dress is 62 yrs old I put a small little tear with my finger in back of dress hidden by her hair as seen in last photo. So i figured leave well enough alone.. She is a Gorgeous Rare Doll with Beautiful , coloring and seems to be very well taken care of. VERY NICE TAGGED CISSY PINK STRIPED DRESS. This vintage Madame Alexander pink striped Cissy dress is clean, complete and in extremely nice vintage condition. All buttons and snaps are solidly in place and work well. This is the 1956 City Shopper dress for the 20 Cissy doll with black belt and neck bow (the belt is tattered).
