This is one of the loveliest walker dolls I’ve seen. The only marking I have found on her is a raised “200″ on the base of her head on the back near the neckline. She appears to be hard plastic with a matte toning which mimics composition (though she has mold lines at her fingers). Her clothing is all original. The cross at her waist is marked “Czechoslav” on the backside. Her arms and legs are not jointed. Her arms are swing arms with attachment at the shoulder but do not have much range of motion due to the habit that she is wearing. The legs swing and move her head back and forth in the typical walker doll movement. She has blue sleep eyes and the upper lashes on both eyes are present. Lower lashes are painted features as shown. She has a delicate open mouth with teeth and red felt backing. She does not have any hair as her veiling is attached to the head and not removable. She stands nearly 18 1/2 tall. Her cheeks and coloration have been delicately added. In person, she is simply lovely – no other word for it. No cracking, crazing, or chipping of her body, limbs, face, etc. Her clothing is in excellent condition. Which is the weight of the item and packing materials used to get it safely to your door. 18 MADAME ALEXANDER composition DOLL. JEANNIE walker 40′s era. Restoration information is in the text Below. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satiny, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. Adorable JEANNIE She has her Clear brown sleep eyes. She wears a nice strawberry MOHAIR wig. Her outfit is a factory made Blue Swiss Dot sheer fabric. It has a matching tam, and is in great shape. There are a cotton underslip and panties, Good vintage leather shoes. More beauties listed, so please take a look. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. The pictures are part of the description & support both the description and condition of the item. You have the option to use the magnification feature as well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I line the head socket with suede. I have been a skilled Artist all my life. This 25 inch hard plastic Winnie Walker doll was made by Madame Alexander in 1953. All original tagged outfit green background with pink roses throughout the dress , pink sleeves and collar with green rick-rack, matching pink felt hat, pink center snap shoes with cream socks which has holes in them, cream color slip with snaps in the back, and matching panties with a snap closure. The outfit has no tears, rips, or holes in it. Rosy red lips, full lashes, blue eyes, her head moves from side to side, painted eyebrows, glued on wig in its original set. There are no cracks on her body. The walking mechanism works great. A beautiful Cissy face. Her flaws are: her arms are faded due to sun light, her lashes stick close (but will open easily with help), and she has marks on her body I believe they are from a metal doll stand. Featured here is a beautiful “Big Binnie Winnie” Walker doll in a lovely blue gown to compliment her very blue eyes. She stands 24 inches tall without her hat. Her walker mechanism works very well, when you move her legs her head turns nicely from side to side; see photos. She has thick dark brown hair and bangs, no missing hair, in its original set of short shoulder length curls. She has very blue blue eyes and rosy cheeks and rosebud lips. She has all her eye lashes! I just noticed a light dappling across her forehead, not readily noticeable but I did want to mention it. I missed it until I looked closely at one of my photo close-ups. This doll does have joint rubs and a few marks on her legs and arms (see next to last photo) — she is not perfect but in very good condition for her age. I have dressed her in a vintage doll outfit, complete with picture hat and flower basket. This is a very sweet doll in a lovely outfit with wonderful accessories, for the vintage doll collector. Her dress and slips have been laundered and pressed; they are very clean. There is no odor at all with this doll. This brunette beauty is dressed in a lovely long blue cotton gown with puffed sleeves, good elastic in the sleeves, and lace trimmed ruffles and skirt. She has a nosegay of flowers tied at her waist with a long satin ribbon. There is one tiny dark spot on her dress, behind her basket, which did not come out in washing. Otherwise the dress and slips are in very good condition for their age. She carries a vintage wicker basket with vintage flowers in it, which comes with a pink ribbon to tie to her wrist. She also wears a very rare vintage necklace of GRADUATED PEARLS; this necklace has a tiny rhinestone clasp like those found on bride necklaces in the 1950s, with a slip in and slide metal hook at the back of her neck. Beneath her skirt she has two long formal length slips, one is white cotton and edged in the same lace as the dress; the other is a stiff tulle with many layers of lace. The latter is very full and stiff and gives the dress and other slip a lot of strut. The tulle slip has an elastic tie at the waist; the cotton slip is held closed with a large pin. She also wears a pair of lovely white cotton pantaloons with tiny blue bows and edged in light blue heart lace; she wears vintage white Fairyland rubber shoes with side straps, with their rubber nubs intact to button closed. These shoes have been soaked and bleached and are very clean. Her large Southern Belle hat is a vintage straw with yellow velvet bow and ribbon and vintage forget me not flowers and roses. It fits her head well and can be posed straight or on an angle as shown in the photos — to frame her lovely face. Her vintage brunette wig under her hat is very full and thick and beautiful so this doll can be displayed nicely with her hat on or with her hat carried in her hand, as shown in the photos. This doll truly is stunning to look at. Her tagged twilight Blue taffeta dress is crisp and the collar and sleeve cuffs are still rather white! SHe has a cute little matching taffeta belt that fastens with a pearl belt loop. Her pink velvet hat is darling and ties with a matching pink satin bow at her chin. Her socks are fairly wite, she carries a black and gold hat box with original cardboard Binnie tag, and curlers and comb still on the original card. Her coloring is beautiful (cheeks, eyebrows, eye-shadow, lips etc,) Her Eyes are piercing blue with thick, full lashes. Her curls are still shiny and tightly in original curled set. Her original “Binnie” box and original tissue is still in fairly nice condition, but the box does have some light age wear and age staining.
