This 25 inch hard plastic Winnie Walker doll was made by Madame Alexander in 1953. All original tagged outfit green background with pink roses throughout the dress , pink sleeves and collar with green rick-rack, matching pink felt hat, pink center snap shoes with cream socks which has holes in them, cream color slip with snaps in the back, and matching panties with a snap closure. The outfit has no tears, rips, or holes in it. Rosy red lips, full lashes, blue eyes, her head moves from side to side, painted eyebrows, glued on wig in its original set. There are no cracks on her body. The walking mechanism works great. A beautiful Cissy face. Her flaws are: her arms are faded due to sun light, her lashes stick close (but will open easily with help), and she has marks on her body I believe they are from a metal doll stand. Featured here is a beautiful “Big Binnie Winnie” Walker doll in a lovely blue gown to compliment her very blue eyes. She stands 24 inches tall without her hat. Her walker mechanism works very well, when you move her legs her head turns nicely from side to side; see photos. She has thick dark brown hair and bangs, no missing hair, in its original set of short shoulder length curls. She has very blue blue eyes and rosy cheeks and rosebud lips. She has all her eye lashes! I just noticed a light dappling across her forehead, not readily noticeable but I did want to mention it. I missed it until I looked closely at one of my photo close-ups. This doll does have joint rubs and a few marks on her legs and arms (see next to last photo) — she is not perfect but in very good condition for her age. I have dressed her in a vintage doll outfit, complete with picture hat and flower basket. This is a very sweet doll in a lovely outfit with wonderful accessories, for the vintage doll collector. Her dress and slips have been laundered and pressed; they are very clean. There is no odor at all with this doll. This brunette beauty is dressed in a lovely long blue cotton gown with puffed sleeves, good elastic in the sleeves, and lace trimmed ruffles and skirt. She has a nosegay of flowers tied at her waist with a long satin ribbon. There is one tiny dark spot on her dress, behind her basket, which did not come out in washing. Otherwise the dress and slips are in very good condition for their age. She carries a vintage wicker basket with vintage flowers in it, which comes with a pink ribbon to tie to her wrist. She also wears a very rare vintage necklace of GRADUATED PEARLS; this necklace has a tiny rhinestone clasp like those found on bride necklaces in the 1950s, with a slip in and slide metal hook at the back of her neck. Beneath her skirt she has two long formal length slips, one is white cotton and edged in the same lace as the dress; the other is a stiff tulle with many layers of lace. The latter is very full and stiff and gives the dress and other slip a lot of strut. The tulle slip has an elastic tie at the waist; the cotton slip is held closed with a large pin. She also wears a pair of lovely white cotton pantaloons with tiny blue bows and edged in light blue heart lace; she wears vintage white Fairyland rubber shoes with side straps, with their rubber nubs intact to button closed. These shoes have been soaked and bleached and are very clean. Her large Southern Belle hat is a vintage straw with yellow velvet bow and ribbon and vintage forget me not flowers and roses. It fits her head well and can be posed straight or on an angle as shown in the photos — to frame her lovely face. Her vintage brunette wig under her hat is very full and thick and beautiful so this doll can be displayed nicely with her hat on or with her hat carried in her hand, as shown in the photos. This doll truly is stunning to look at. Her tagged twilight Blue taffeta dress is crisp and the collar and sleeve cuffs are still rather white! SHe has a cute little matching taffeta belt that fastens with a pearl belt loop. Her pink velvet hat is darling and ties with a matching pink satin bow at her chin. Her socks are fairly wite, she carries a black and gold hat box with original cardboard Binnie tag, and curlers and comb still on the original card. Her coloring is beautiful (cheeks, eyebrows, eye-shadow, lips etc,) Her Eyes are piercing blue with thick, full lashes. Her curls are still shiny and tightly in original curled set. Her original “Binnie” box and original tissue is still in fairly nice condition, but the box does have some light age wear and age staining. This sweet doll is a Texas Hurricane Harvey survivor! She came to me in her original outfit, with her original dress and panties, hat and socks and shoes. Her original shoes were very worn and in poor condition so I have replaced them with new pink side snap shoes. I have also added a pink satin ribbon at her waist to match her outfit. This is a gorgeous RARE brunette Big Binnie Winnie Walker by Madame Alexander, in her original outfit. Her cotton panties are full at the hip and snap at the waist, and have gathered ruffles at the leg; her cotton slip is a dress slip, full length under her dress and has lovely lace trim. NOTE: When I got her, her hat had many small moth holes in it from being in her prior owner’s storage. I turned her hat inside out, as the pink had faded; and carefully hand-stitched vintage velvet fabric flowers to her hat — everywhere she had a moth hole. This is her original hat from the Madame Alexander outfit, with its original black fabric ties; but I simply added very vintage cotton and velvet forget me not and other flowers to it to match her dress. See photos for how it looks now. I think it turned out quite nice. This doll has a gorgeous face, with her original dark brunette wig, with curls in their original set under her bonnet or hat. She has big blue green eyes, red lips, rosy cheeks and a sweet upturned nose. Her coloring is quite even, with exception of her right arm which is slightly lighter in color than her left. It is not obvious though as you can see in the photos. I have added black fingerless, hand crocheted gloves to her outfit; these gloves were made for me in Canada by a very talented seamstress. They fasten at the wrist with tiny pearls and fit her perfectly. This is a very old “Walker Doll” but her walker mechanism works just fine; when you move her legs her head turns from side to side. No props in the photos are included; the doll stand is not included. My home is SMOKE FREE and PET FREE. A fabulous, high color doll wearing her original tagged, crispy mint, complete Southern Belle outfit. Brunette hair still in the factory style set. Brown sleep eyes that work nicely. She is strung just right, knees bend nicely and walker mechanism functions well. Crispy gown has 2 tiny pin holes on top layer front, which look as though someone used a straight pin. Other than that, no stains, holes or discoloring. Hat and purse look to never have been off the doll. Also included are her 2 strand faux crystal necklace, full slip, bloomers, rayon socks and side snap shoes with fuzzy soles. Even has her Alexander stand. They don’t get much nicer than this! Thanks for stopping by! Beautiful all original dressed 17″-18″ Vintage Madame Alexander Maggie Walker doll! Odors- I do not detect any strong offensive odors. Stringing- Her arms are tight and hold poses with a new band. Her legs are a little loose but her walker works good. Head – Clean, no stains or major marks. There is a little faint glue residual glue at right edge of wig if you pull her hair back. Hair – Hair is clean, thick and in original set with a few fly aways. She has her original red ribbons and hair pins in place. Makeup/Paint – Lips are red and original. Cheeks are bright and original. Eyes – Eyes are clear, clean and a very pretty blue. They open and close easily. Eyelashes are full thick and straight. Body- and limbs are clean and free of stains, no cracks to seams, minimal scuffing and play wear. Clothing She wears her original clothing that is pictured in her booklet. Dress is taggged Maggie Walker, coat is tagged Madame Alexander. All seams and snaps intact. No holes or tears. There are no stains. Taffeta dress is clean, color even and bright, fabric is crisp/stiff. Cuffs and collar are probably a tad off white. Rhinestone buttons intact, nice button holes. Full slip is clean, no damage. There is one snap missing at waist, Matching panties are clean and nice. Both have good fabric sizing. There are a couple faint spots of fading to outer shell if you look closely. Red lining is clean and bright with even color. Seams and buttons intact. Hard to find red velvet beret/tam hat is clean, lovely color. I don’t see any wear to velvet. Elastic band still has good elasticity. Socks are clean but do have some light age yellowing. Black shoes are excellent, no damage. Her curler box is complete with curlers, no major damage She comes with her original wrist hang tag that still has original string, very nice condition, I don’t see any damage.
