Wendy is a bend knee walker with a triple stitch red wig that has been on display. Her make up and face coloring are beautiful. The dress is organdy embroidered with rosebuds. There is a pink velvet sash attached at the waist that could be pressed. The dress is trimmed with lace on the sleeves, neck and skirt. It is in great shape, however yellowed with age. The straw hat has a black velvet ribbon hat band, also in great shape. The matching Bouquet and flowers in the hat are different then pictures I have seen. The flowers are smaller. The shoes look to be in just OK shape. One bow only has a loop in one side and there bottoms are not as fuzzy as the shoes I have on a bride in another listing. She does not stand on her own. A fellow Ebayer asked if the lashes have been retouched. I do not know. Her eyelashes compared to other Alexander Kins is darker. She is blonde Alexander-Kin and wears a green velvet coat and hat is #625, under the coat she wears a white taffeta dress with lace accents and a velvet ribbon trim. She holds a muff with flowers. For your consideration, a charming 8 1956 #625. Wendy wears a Charming Ensemble. She is a hard plastic doll with a “Alex” tag on her back. She is a Bend Knee Walker. Her outfit consist of. White Taffeta undies, white taffeta tagged dress that matches the lining of her coat. Over her dress, she wears a emerald green velvet coat with a Peter pan collar and three white buttons. She wears a matching triangular hat with 3 triple tiny brads. On the 11th picture you can only see 2 the other one is on the other side. All clothing is in excellent condition, no rips, tears, discolorations etc. As is the doll. Her shoes snap on the side and they have fuzzy soles, as most shoes in the’50s did. This listing is for the 1957 Rare Alexander kin “Wendy Wears a Morning Dress” #366. It can be seen on page 100 of P. Smith’s “World of Alexander-kins”. Wow this is a fantastic doll and outfit. This darling bkw has a beautiful red triple stitch wig that is nice and tight to her head with lots of shine. She has bright all original cheek color and a lovely overall matte complexion. Her walker does work but she was very loose and I did have to restring her legs and arms. Now they both work and pose nicely. I think this is such a special outfit and it is in a color combination that I cannot find in any books or online. I just love a variation! I will start with her beautiful flowered dress which has a lot of body and lovely shine to the fabric. It is in excellent minty condition and which is evidenced by the extremely crisp bright tag. The dress has no stains, tears, holes or odors. The pinafore is outstanding and has a a beautiful shine to it as well. It is a very vibrant shade of green with darling rick rack trim and a pocket. This pinafore is just perfect with no stains, holes, tears or odors. Under the dress Wendy wears a beautiful pair of matching bloomers that has excellent stretch to the elastic and look almost new. Her black side snap shoes are also in fantastic condition. Lastly she tops off her outfit with a darling white hat with matching light beige/yellow flowers bunches on either side. The gold elastic is nice and tight and the straw of the hat is perfect and very white. Overall this is a near mint doll in a fantastic rare outfit that will not.
