She has a glowing complexion and complete features. Eyes are sparkling, true blue. Late 1956 through 1957 was the period of time during which the Alexander company transitioned from painted hard plastic (thermoset) to pre-colored rigid vinyl thermoplastic. Cissy is typical of the era. Her head is the new hard plastic, her torso the old formula. The necks of these dolls often do not fit into the head opening as well as we’d like. She is otherwise excellent. Her flexible vinyl arms are a good match to the other plastics she is composed of. No splits, no odors. Her legs hold positions. Note one wrist shows evidence of her having worn a bracelet. Stains can be removed from flexible vinyl with patience. Her wig is smooth and full. Probably once in a chignon, it is now free in back. There is some wig glue residue the ear tops and back of neck. Possible she started life in one of the wigs with curls around the neck rather than the up-swept style she now wears. It still has the spanner bar, the original cobblers’ string, and all the stitching is whole. Lashes are long, full, and straight. Lids are not scratched. PINK AND BLUE ORGANDY. No stains, no holes, no rips, no repairs, no repairs needed, no dust, no odors. Not only is her light blonde wig special, she has blue eyes so deep they are nearly black. Wig is flawless and glossy as new. She wears replaced pink socks and blue “suede” shoes with fuzzy soles. A white cotton slip and matching panties are trimmed with cotton lace. Elastic is not stretched. The sleeve elastic is just as snug. Legs bend at the knees and hold position. Eyes sleep as they should. FABULOUS LITTLE LADY SET. Here she is in the original frame display with all her toiletries, never opened. Colors are bright as new. No stains, no fading, no dust, no odors. The plastic frame is not cracked. Alexander contracted with Helene Pessl, Inc. The developer of Little Lady Cosmetics. The interpretation by Alexander is very true to the original illustrations. The original Little Lady illustration shows her in her ruffled pinafore, spats, pink trimmed pantaloons, and pretty smile… Interpreted faithfully by Mme Alexander. Little Lady’s box is plain, not the usual logo print. It’s in strong, clean condition. The lid has split corners, but no added tape. The dress is tagged. She has her original store price tag. No other props are included. For your consideration, I have this stunning 1958 Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll. There are a few things to keep in mind while looking at my photos. Her face does have a bit of shine to it. My photos show her face more matte than in reality. My photos have not been photoshopped or enhanced in any way at all. The yellowing that appears on the dolls face is not as yellow to the naked eye. It is very slight. Cameras are funny things. Cissy is a gorgeous doll. DARK brunette wig that has been combed through a bit. BLUE sleep eyes, with all of her original eyelashes. Original everything except her blush has been very lightly enhanced. Cissy has no splits, cracks or odors. Nice, evenly colored body. Cissy wears a vintage dotted swiss dress, with a green ribbon serving as a sash around her waist. Underneath, she wears a stiff white crinoline. Brand new, elegant Cissy panties, and bra. Cissy wears a pair of mommy made mules. Her hat and bag are lovely. They both have had vintage flowers from the 1950′s added to them. Cissy has pierced ears, and wears a pair of pearl earrings, and a graduated pearl necklace. She is a lovely doll. This doll just so pretty and her coloring is fantastic. She has dark brown hair that is tight to her head and has the original flowers sewed in place. The flowers are in good condition and are a lovely blue color. Her facial coloring is all original and she is highly blushed. Her overall coloring is also very good and she has no issues to her body. Her blue tutu has faded with age as so many of them do. It is more of a lavender blue color now but it has no holes, stains, or odors. The netting is also in good condition with no issues that I have found. Under her tutu she wears a pair of matching bloomers that are in good condition. The elastic is not as tight as it once was but they stay up with no issues. She is still wearing her factory tied shoes and I don’t believe they have ever been off of her. This group includes a darling 1954-55 Guardian Angel, the dress and hat for Day in the Country #350, “Mambo”, Ballerina outfit with the correct head piece and two wedding dresses. The angel doll is in good condition, she has lovely all original coloring and beautiful brown hair. She is a really pretty doll but does have two flaws. She has a little color loss in one small area on her right cheek and she has a seam separation in between her legs. The seam separation does not hinder her walking or standing but it is there so I wanted to mention it. Her outfit is in very good condition with no stains, holes, tears or odors. Her wings are so darling and are a pretty pink and her plastic halo is in good condition with nice stretch to the elastic. Under her gown she has on a long slip, bloomers and foil shoes all of which are in good condition with no issues. The day in the country dress is beautiful with vibrant colors and no issues. The hat is in good condition and the flowers are beautiful but on one side where the flowers are stapled in it is a little weak. The ballerina outfit is very pretty with no issues besides the ribbon ties showing some wear. The headpiece is still in good shape with one small break to the plastic but it does not hurt the integrity of the piece and it still fits nicely on the head. The mambo dress is in good condition with really vibrant colors in the skirt and a beautiful pink shawl. The only issue is that the fuzz on the bodice has worn off, but it is covered by the shawl and does not distract in the least. Lastly the two brides dresses are in fair to good condition and could look great with a little restoration. All together this is a nice lot and beautiful doll that is sure to please. She is from 1950, and she has the Margaret face mold. Original foil wrist tag, and store receipt. This doll is the best example of a Peggy Bride I have seen. She is 14 tall. Her silk gown has no flaws. It’s a bit wrinkled in the back from laying in her box for so many years. No holes- no actual flaws. She smells like a wonderful, clean, and perfect vintage doll. She is simply stunning. Everything is in working order. Her sleep eyes are clear, blue and perfect. I have examined the doll completely, and the only things I saw were a tiny pin size light brown spot on the silk overlay of the gown. The veil has 3 tiny light brown spots. This is her original box, however the color of the gown is checked pink. The gown is of course white. Over the years, has become more of a creamy white. The box is missing a bit of one side of the upper flap. However, for it’s age, I have seen much worse. An example of one of the finest dolls ever made. She will not disappoint.
