It’s an absolutely gorgeous confection… Blue satin underskirt, two layers of blue tulle, and the overlay of silver stars & braided silver trim. A beautiful blue & silver fitted drop-waist bodice is decorated with a small satin bow, and closure is at the back with four square snaps. This gown is in outstanding condition, with only a couple of very light age spots at the bottom of the satin underskirt on the side, which of course cannot be seen at all because there are three layers of fabric over it. Underneath Cissy wears the original ivory taffeta & tulle slip, matching panties, vintage hosiery & silver strappy sandals. Cissy chose rhinestone studs for her ears, a beautiful silver & rhinestone bracelet, and a sparkling “diamond” on her finger. She carries a lucite handbag encrusted with pretty silver flowers. This Cissy is drop-dead gorgeous. Her features are perfection; her blush has been very lightly refreshed. Her dark brunette wig is thick & longer than most, allowing curls to drape down her back. She has Maggie’s face. She has blue eyes, and wears her original blue taffeta, Her outfit is without holes or tears, however, it does have some stains, as is common when dolls are kept in boxes. NO cracks, splits on the doll, her coloring is even. Maggie was first made in 1949 Hard Plastic darker complexion. Later ones have creamy complexion. Maggie walker came in 1952. Hi, Here is a vintage composition doll by Madame Alexander who originally was a portrait 21 doll but who has been refinished and painted also redressed in the style of the 1700′s that Madame Alexander had done back when this doll was originally made. The last photo on this listing shows a similar doll wearing her original outfit which inspired this one. I don’t claim my imitation is perfectly alike, but it is inspired by the original shown. She has a 5 piece composition body which is jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips with her original blue sleep eyes and lashes. Her hair is white mohair to enhance the Pompadour style and she wears rhinestone “diamond earrings”. Her beauty marks are also rhinestones. The shoes are commercially made replacements. Her stockings are cotton knit, pantaloons are cotton with embroidered lace and her petticoat is a wired hoop with taffeta and peach colored tulle. Her gown is made of vintage taffeta in a iridescent peach color that is decorated with cotton lace and gold rick rack trim. It closes in the back with a zipper as the originals would have done. There are vintage flowers attached in front along with rhinestones and a gold ribbon at her waist and in her hair. She is not all original but someone may still be able to enjoy her as she is. Wendy – Dressed for a Summer Morning for the Discriminating Collector. Wendy is Dressed for a Summer Morning. 8 Madame Alexander, #424 Wendy.. Produced in 1955, she is a bent knee walker with the Wendy Ann face and marked ALEX on her back.. Her face paint is all original and she has very bright rosy cheeks. She has blue flirty eyes and her walking mechanism works fine. Wendy is wearing her original outfit which consists of a tagged lime green cotton dress with a floral cotton pinafore and lime green panties. She has fuchsia original shoes with fuzzy bottoms and wears rayon socks. She has her original wrist tag To: All Little Girls Everywhere, and her booklet from 1955 showing her photo and others created that year. This doll also came with a perky hairdo but mine has the traditional flip and is exactly as I bought her mint in box in 1991! She has shiny blonde hair and a triple stitched wig. Original set is perfect. She has lived behind glass in my custom doll room and is from a pet-free, smoke-free home. Dont miss this treasure she is fresh and crisp as the day she was made! This is a lovely vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll. She is wearing a 1957 Opera Gown. Her tagged dress is a lace print on heavy faille fabric. It is in great unwashed condition. She wears her opera mitts, diamond ring, rhinestone bracelet and pearl necklace, and three tier diamond earrings. Her slip is pale blue, and has two slit repairs, as seen in photos. There are also a few other small tears in the slip but they don’t detract from her dress and fullness at all. She wears a replica fur stole, that completes her outfit. Her face is wonderful, freshly reblushed. She has a professionally done split repair inside her torso. She has great blue eyes and blonde hair. She also carries her matching purse.
