This doll truly is stunning to look at. Her tagged twilight Blue taffeta dress is crisp and the collar and sleeve cuffs are still rather white! SHe has a cute little matching taffeta belt that fastens with a pearl belt loop. Her pink velvet hat is darling and ties with a matching pink satin bow at her chin. Her socks are fairly wite, she carries a black and gold hat box with original cardboard Binnie tag, and curlers and comb still on the original card. Her coloring is beautiful (cheeks, eyebrows, eye-shadow, lips etc,) Her Eyes are piercing blue with thick, full lashes. Her curls are still shiny and tightly in original curled set. Her original “Binnie” box and original tissue is still in fairly nice condition, but the box does have some light age wear and age staining. She has a walking style body like the others in the Me and My Shadow series. She has be blue eyes, VERY long thick eyelashes, nice even two stroke brows, and soft pink cheeks. Her shiny blonde hair has curled under bangs and soft curl clusters at the nape of her neck, all nearly flawless and in original set. Her crisply tagged gown is slate blue, soft taffeta with elaborate silk braid and loop-trimmed panniers on her hips and bustle drapery down the back. She has lace trimmed tulle sleevelets, and netting stockings. She wears a light cream, taffeta, loop trimmed petticoat with a hoop that accentuates the bustle in the back, and attached lace-trimmed pantaloons in fantastic condition. Her shoes are lovely with almost flawless fuzz still on the soles. Her original lace hat is a light cream with original flowers and original pink satin ribbon that ties nicely at her chin. Her original pink velvet handbag is in nice condition, and she also carries a white and gold Madame Alexander hat box also in lovely condition. She is really a very lovely doll from the desirable Me and My Shadow Portrait series, and comes from a smoke and pet-free home. Look at the photos carefully and ask questions. Your 1950s Cissy Bridesmaid Doll is wearing her all-original (including the flowers which are often replaced) bridesmaid outfit, which is complete — dress, veil, stockings, bouquet, and shoes. One shoe’s elastic has some stretching going on. She has the sweetest face and perfect makeup and coloring. She has gorgeously-styled auburn hair — which is the most desirable of hair colorings for this doll. For a doll of her age, she sure looks great, and her outfit shows no yellowing, aging, tears, or stains other than a tiny pinpoint spot. Here you have my best good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind, though, that vintage/antique items always show their age — Don’t we all! ? — so please expect that there will be something about this item that’s not perfect. Even if it’s “mint” or “new-old-stock, ” it will still be somehow touched by Father Time. Cissy is in absolute MINTY condition, as detailed above. One shoe has some stretching of the elastic. I consider myself a lucky person to have owned such a rare & stunning example of Madame Alexander’s dolls. This beauty, one of the original painted Cissys manufactured by Madame Alexander in one year ONLY 1955, was nicknamed the “Waltz Doll, ” perhaps because when looking at her it’s easy to imagine her twirling around the dance floor, this luxurious blue satin gown flowing around & behind her. What a beautiful vision! Cissy’s tagged blue slipper satin gown is in very good condition for its age. The are no holes, rips or tears. Absolutely gorgeous but not mint; there is some faint staining & scuffing here & there, although you can see from her photographs how beautifully it displays. I mention these things because they can be seen with spotlighting, but on normal display these imperfections seem to melt away with the folds & beauty of the satin. It’s not perfect, but breathtaking none-the-less. The beautiful front decorative braiding is studded with both clear & blue rhinestones (all are present) and metallic silver thread. Closure is at the back with five square snaps. Underneath Cissy wears the original taffeta panties and original slip elastic at the waist has relaxed on both, and was re-tightened with elastic thread; there is some light age spotting. The slip has an extra-wide bottom flounce trimmed with the blue satin which matches the gown. Cissy has vintage hosiery and her original silver strappy sandals. This Cissy didn’t have pierced ears, but has small half rhinestones on each lobe. She wears her vintage “diamond” ring, and a silver & rhinestone bracelet made in the likeness of the original. Both her spectacular vintage floral bandeau & white feather fan with pewter fleur-de-lis were reconstructed with complete respect to the original design. I’m perhaps prejudiced, but I do believe this is one of the most beautiful Cissys Madame Alexander created. She is completely original and has only been re-matted to protect her gorgeous color & features. She is spectacular, and several items given this doll were never again used on any other Cissy – the most prominent being her stunning thick light brown wig, with both longer bangs & longer curls tied at the back.
