Madelaine du Bain is from my personal collection. She is very nice example, made in 1938. She is 14′ tall and composition with human hair wig and has the Wendy Ann face. She was made exclusively for the FAO Swartz department stores. She is wearing a 1880 French costume. Her dress is light blue organdy with tiny flower print all over. Black velvet trim and bows on her dress. She has not been washed. Attached is her white cotton hoop slip and separate panties. White socks and side snap patent leather shoes are original with satin bows on each toe. Nylon straw hat with with black satin bows and and small bunch of straw flowers on each side of her bonnet. Her hair is in its original set, is a beautiful blonde mohair wig. She is a lovely doll for her age of over 85 years. Her petticoat stand out but has a break in the wire, and her eyes are slightly faded. She has been in my curio as dust or odors are not an issue. Thank you for stopping by. 15 composition Madame Alexander JANE WITHERS DOLL. 30′s era era. Restoration information is in the text Below. Make sure to READ it as the information explains the details and represents part of the overall description. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, Finish is satin, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. Hard to find mid size. Jane has her original Mohair wig. Her sleep eyes are clear with the exception of a line in the right eye. They are her original eyes and looked good, so she kept them. Her dress and Organdy blouse/onsie are reproduction made from Vintage fabrics Patterned after a original dress. The hat looks is very similar Vintage to the original. Good vintage black snap shoes. I have other beauties listed, so please take a look. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. The pictures are part of the description & support both the description and condition of the item. You have the option to use the magnification feature as well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was factory made (not what a 80 year old faded doll looks like). With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. Their imperfections are part of the charm of composition. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I have been a skilled Artist all my life. My attention to detail of the painted features is expert. Madame Alexander dolls, the complete set of the five Dionne Alexander composition 7 1/2 baby dolls, circa 1936 Composition dolls. They are molded and have glancing brown eyes with eyelashes, eyebrows, natural looking hair and close bee sting mouths. They are named Emelie, Annette, Marie, Cecile and Yvonne. They have swivel heads and five piece baby bodies. They each have all their fingers and toes with no repairs or repainting. All the clothes are original, some with original tags and shoes and socks too. On the back of their heads are raised letters that say Dionne and Alexander. On their backs in raised letters say Alexander. I have added newer metal name tags so you will know them apart. They come in their original basket with their original pink blanket, very old also. I have enjoyed them for many, many, many years. I think they will make you smile as they are quite cute. They have been stored in my curio as dust and odors are not an issue. THIS MADAME ALEXANDER CISSY – IS A 1957 DOLL, MY PERSONAL DOLL I GOT AS A CHILD. HEIGHT: 20 INCHES SHE HAS JOINTED SOFT VINYL ARMS, HARD-PLASTIC JOINTED LEGS AND AN INFUSED PLASTIC FACE. SHE HAS NO OPEN SEAMS, HOWEVER SHE HAS A SMALL SPLIT UP FROM THE JOINT ON ONE LEG (SEE PHOTO CLOSE UP). HEAVY BLUSH ON HANDS AND KNEES. THIS DOLL IS VERY CLEAN AND HAS BEEN STORED, WITH OCCASIONAL DISPLAYING, FOR MANY YEARS. Gorgeous exceptionally shiny red wig in original style with partial up sweep. Original bar across the crown of her head with a full head of curls at the nape of her neck. Still retains some of the original doll pins holding the curls in place. Clear blue-green eyes with full upper lashes – just a truly beautiful face – the classic red lips – all making that red hair look fabulous! She has a lovely flesh-colored matte complexion. Her skin tone on her entire body is that peachy flesh-colored tone with a lot of blushing on the arms, hands and legs highlighting and contouring her natural features. There is a slight split on the one leg. I can find nothing else on this doll to detract from the beauty she was the first day I got her! (I was a lucky little girl and knew it). She is very clean and has no odors that I can detect. Cissy will come to you in a 1956 HTF mint satin and lace corset. The corset is tagged Cissy and zips up the back. The main body of this is an ecru or beige color with the accent lace an ivory color. A small delicate pink rose at mid-cleavage is the finishing touch to this intricate design. Madame Alexander was spot on when she went for feminine with this lovely under garment. The pictures do more to describe this timeless piece than I can with words. Cissy is wearing lace-topped seamed nylons with the pretty pink mules donning cabbage roses and rhinestones. The shoes are as clean and mint as the corset. I think this doll is much prettier in person than she is in her photographs. She really makes you do a double take. Cissy wears her original pearl drop earrings. All sales are final.
