We offer for your consideration a gently displayed 17″ or 18″ Madame Alexander, marked ALEXANDER, hard plastic Mary Martin doll with a lovely sun tanned matte complexion. She is from the years 1948 through 1950. Her nicely blushed cheeks and full lovely lips are stunning. She is strung nicely, strong and tight for her head and legs, so she can hold a pose beautifully for display. Her arms do not hold a pose. Someday, in the far future, you will want to have her restrung. — —-Her coloration is even and true on her face, torso, arms, and legs. Please take note of her stunning unclouded eyes with full intact molded eyelashes that fringe her eyes. Plus, she has the lighter color eyelids for a real striking appearance. Her eyebrows are unfaded. Her caracul hair is full and even with no thinning or missing areas. I see a little fleck of missing color under her right ear. — —-This doll is one of hundreds of dolls we bought from an adult lady collector downsizing her estate. Please note, she is as close to factory fresh as you can find for an almost 70 year-old doll. Her coloring is even, beautifully blushed, and her color is unfaded. Her lips are bright and full. She is marked, very lightly, on the back of her neck. I can make out “EXAND”. —- —-Both of her clear unclouded eyes open and close completely. Her long molded eyelashes are complete and intact. Her eyes are stunning. Her outfit is custom to her, and an amazing fit, so it seems it is original. — Wow, I have never seen such an exquisite gown. This dress is not tagged. I have now seen the Mary Martin dress, and I know it is a white formal. There were some variations in the colors of trimming : red or green are the colors I have seen. I found the Doll Edition June 15, 2018 was a lovely photo. You can find many photos by googling Mary Martin formal or checking out the Doll Edition on Facebook. The fit, the style, it mustbe a classic over the top amazing Madame Alexander design. One could be a tiny pin prick size hole, but it is so little it is hard to see if it is just thinned. The snap buttons are well attached in the back. The top layer appears free of flaws, holes, or issues. The satin layer underneath is close to factory fresh. Included with this dress is the original velvety matching waist tie, her aged but displayable bright and crisp satin no heel shoes, and her intact lovely nylon pantyhose. Her white pretty panties are no longer stretchy. —She is intact and complete. She is beautiful and free of issues. —-She was only rarely removed from her showcase by the original adult collector. The doll was stored in a cool dark room in her pet and smoke free house. Her untagged dress is fresh and crisp with no major detracting noticeable major sign of age related, or sun, discoloration. I feel the photographs portray her well. The satin on the dress, panties, and slip are all clean, bright, and very displayable. —-Her hair is full with no missing or thinning areas. It is very true to the original style. The color of her hair is stunning. —She shows no age or discoloration. She does not show any marks, or rubs of missing color on her fingers, legs, or body. She does have the minor marks on her right leg, but you will not noticem and I believe they are washable. She shows nothing majorly detracting from her displayable condition. — —-Her coloration is much more bright and blushed than she appears in her photos. She is complete with no chews, no splits under her ears or on her seams, or major damage. We will not include her stand. — Please write with any questions. Up for sale is this EXTREMELY RARE 18 vintage Madame Alexander Cissy-faced Agatha doll from the Me and My Shadow series from 1954, in box. Of the more rare Me and My Shadow portrait series, Agatha is one of, if not the very most rare and hard to find dolls in that series. She has a very ornate outfit. She wears a pink, tagged, taffeta gown with purple and yellow eye loop trim, blue velvet forget-me-nots, gathers, flares, etc. It is fitted from the bodice to the hips, with gathers accentuating her hips, and very full gathered skirt. It has a stuffed bust (like the other me and my shadow and glamour girls should), and there is a slight stretching on her right breast seam, though the long ribbon tends to fall over it naturally. In the back there is a bow-like bustle, with wings that extend beneath, and a LONG decorated train. The sleeves have ruffled tulle on the underside. The tulle is a little brittle with ha section partially broken off on her left arm. Her bonnet is in lovely condition, with no breaks in the straw. It has a lovely pink moire ribbon weaving across the top with bows and tying in a bow under her chin. It has lovely blue and cream velvet forget-me-nots, and cream velvet forget-me-nots , and a couple perfect cabbage roses as well. She has a pink taffeta “parasol”, and pink Madame Alexander hat box. She has a beautiful dark brown hair in smooth hairdo with cured under ends pinned sleekly in the back. She does have some vintage glue residue at the top of her forehead just past the edge of the wig. It can best be seen in the photo of her laying down. I’ve heard it can be removed, but I will let the new owner decide if they want to so something about it. She has blue eyes, bright pink lips, and two strike brows. She has the lovely classic Cissy face so many love. Her box is in OK condition. It has a slight bend on one side and has a little seam separation where the bottom meets the wall of the box. Overall she is a lovely sample of an EXTREMELY RARE and hard to find doll. She doesn’t have odors and comes from a smoke free home. A complete set of 1930′s unmarked composition Dionne Quintuplets baby dolls, approximately 6-1/2 long (when undressed). Madame Alexander acquired the rights to make dolls representing the quintuplets, but many other doll/toy companies in the mid and late 1930′s made unlicensed versions of the quints, including American companies. This set is unmarked (most of Effanbee Dionne sets were). They used the Tinyette baby as the model for their Quint babies and then made the colorful pastel matching gown and bonnet for each doll. Each baby has a solid dome composition socket head with jointed arms and jointed bowed infant legs, brown/black painted hair, adorable faces with side glancing brown eyes, painted lashes and rosebud mouths. They are all wearing their original factory clothing that consists of pretty cotton dresses with attached slips, wonderful quality made matching bonnets with wide lace-trimmed brims, pinned diapers and slouchy socks/booties. Their costumes are all in very good condition having no holes or tears. Dress fasteners are brass pins. Each baby has their own color coordinated initial bracelet and a bunny toy (bunnies were added). They come in a shared wood crib (with pad and pillow). They are all tightly strung. The compo condition is generally very good on all of them. There is crazing, however, here and there on all of the baby dolls (please see my pictures) but it is expected and not visible at all when the dolls are displayed dressed… AND the crazing and any other imperfections have been treated and stabilized with a liquid “preservative”. The treatment makes these dolls now very sound, without any future. In person this is a very pleasing little set of Quints. Included in my offer a very cute 13 composition full jointed Nurse doll and. The pin is a collectible I had and thought it would look good pinned on her. This Nurse doll is “unmarked” and I believe may be an early Effanbee from the thirties or forties. (she is not original to the set but I have included her and the pin as a token of my appreciation). The Nurse doll is dressed in complete uniform (hand fashioned). She has a braided styled mohair wig and a lovely face that almost matches the quintuplets. A very sweet, unique set 80+ years old that should please any collector. I just found (5) little “paper” name tags and I will include these as well. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer. As you can see, I have clear turquoise eyes. The negligee is a pink froth of lace and highlights my beauty. The corset is made with a modesty panel and closes in the back with a zipper. I chose special shoes for my ensemble. For my jewelry, I chose pink diamondearrings with a matching necklace, bracelet, and ring. My ring is a clip-on ring that my owner bought years ago for me. You will not be disappointed, as many of these dolls are beautiful collectible treasures! A True Beauty by all rights! Lovely vintage brunette Cissette with original triple-zigzag stitched wig and flawless complexion! She has high-color rosy cheeks, pretty lashes and brows, blue sleep-eyes that open and close easily with peach eyelids. Cissette looks stunning in her blue and white polka dot ruffled dress, lined in white organdy and trimmed with a blue satin bow at the bodice. On her head, she wears the correct coordinating navy cloche hat trimmed with white flowers. Under her dress Cissette wears original seamed stockings, satin slip and panties and her original navy and silver scrappy sandals. This particular outfit is documented in. Marjorie Merod’s book on page 148, as one of the Mystery Beauties. Similar in style as #909 of 1957. Cissette also has her original pearl earrings and an added repo pearl chocker/bracelet. The doll is in wonderful, clean vintage condition and displays beautifully. A stand will be included. No odors, smoke free environment. She is in very good condition with only her loose head and tarnished original tiara as problems. The tiara is held in place with 3 original nails into her head. She is appropriately tagged “Madame Alexander”. She also has her hang tag. She is wearing her original jewelry earrings and gauntlet gloves and bracelets.
