Madame Alexander Dolls

This is a very nice 1957 Madame Alexander Simple Satin Ballerina Elise doll. She wears her original tagged tutu of satin and tulle with abundant underlayers of tulle for rich fullness. There may be a few tiny holes in the tulle but if they are there, they don’t show amid all the layers. Beneath the tutu ruffles is the satin panty section. Elise wears her flower trimmed headpiece in her hair. Matching original flower swag on her tutu bodice. The flowers could use a quick steaming to reform them because they are a bit flattened from storage. Pink pantyhose with no runs and pink ribbon trimmed pink slippers. Slippers are a little dirty so could use a wipe down. No seam splits on the doll. Pretty clear blue eyes, shiny blonde hair, and round pearl earrings. Not mint but yet very nice vintage Elise doll. This is a far from mint 1959 Madame Alexander Blue Pleated Bridesmaid Elise doll. She wears her original gown. There are five areas in the skirt section of the gown that have some tears as seen in the photos. Beneath the gown she wears her original tagged half slip. It is very wrinkled and needs to be pressed. She also wears a seamstress made blue chiffon half slip for fullness and to enhance the blue color of the gown. She has no stockings or shoes. There are two seam splits on the doll’s knee areas as shown in one of the photos. Some of the beads on the pearl necklace and the earrings have lost their finish. The metal on the jewelry is tarnished. Elise’s face has been fully repainted. Not well done but it does give her a bright color. One of the photos shows a good closeup on the repaint so you can see it well. Her best features are her lovely brunette wig and very pretty bright blue eyes. Please look at all the photos carefully as they are part of the description. CONS: Not a mint doll. Some necklace beads and earrings have lost their pearl finish. Some tarnish on jewelry metal. No stockings or shoes. Five spots of torn pleated organza on gown. Wrinkled underslip, needs to be ironed. Added blue chiffon half slip. Replaced flowers on bodice. Two seam splits on knee areas. This is a lovely 1960 Madame Alexander Godey Elise doll. She wears her original tagged one-piece dress of apricot velvet and pleated taffeta that shows a little shelf dust and overall age but is still quite nice looking, original slip, panties, and shoes. Original hat has beautifully replaced vintage flowers. Watch fob pinned at the waist. Freshly blushed cheeks, no seam splits. A lovely beautiful example of a hard-to-find doll. She is 16 1/2 tall, hard plastic body with vinyl over sleeved arms, jointed at the elbow, ankles. Blonde hair in original set pull up with brass bar. Her face has beautiful cololr with pink cheeks, blue eyes with full lashes. Elise is wearing a bridal gown of great elegance, sheer tulle embroidered in a bridal wreath design, with softly draped bodice. Dress is tagged Elise. A cloud of tulle forms her veil falling to the floor and attached to a coronal of flowers matching bridal bouquet. She has her half taffeta under slip, taffeta panties, the traditional bridal garter, nylons and silver spike high heels(nylons and heels don’t appear to every been off her). Pearl necklace & earrings(show some wear). Rhinestone ring(needs tighten). Doll has been displayed before I got her, since I have had her she has been kept in her box. The embroided seem a little aged not as white as tulle. Box is altogether no splits, does have discolor from age, but you can still read label. This stunning 1958 Bride was called Mary Rose and has the older Elise face. She has jointed elbows, knees and ankles. She is all-original, including her beautiful floral wreath gown, flowers, veil and circular headdress, pearl earrings, necklace, bracelet and stockings, garter and shoes. I added her solitaire engagement ring. The doll has no issues and is flawless. She is blonde and blue-eyed. Her wig is in perfect original shape. Her stockings and garter are like new. Her high heeled pumps have lost some elasticity, but have been tightened at the back so she is able to stand in them. Please examine photographs carefully and zoom-in for clarity. She is 15 tall. Stock Item # is 1700. She is in very nice condition, with high color face paint. No rubs or imperfections. She is in remarkable condition for being over 60 years old! Clear eyes that open and close easily. Her hair is in its original hairdo, with original hairbow and hair pins. Bending joints at elbows , ankles, and knees all appear to be tight and functional. Tight to sight, I did not give her a good workout since she is in great shape and didnt want to damage her. No odors or musty smells. This was from the original owner who received her as a young teen. Past her prime of playing with dolls, so she was not played with. This Elise #1700 comes in her original lace chemise. With original stockings with seams up the back. She has her original pearl drop earrings and original pearl bracelet with pearl heart charm. Her original pink satin hairbow is still in place. As a fun addition, this doll was wearing the white sheer tricot gloves edged with lace. A bonus to any collector. Her original box is included. Has the No 1700 on the label. The box had been used to store additional doll clothing over the years, and so is a bit rough. Also included as bonus items: original shoes with silver heel platforms and elastic straps…… Era straw hat with original vintage fabric flowers (did not repair one straw edge that could be tightened) , a small bouquet of vintage fabric flowers, and a dress that may or may not be an original MA dress. It is aqua sheer voille fabric with flocked white accents. Looks very authentic, but I have not been able to document it. Please review my description, and my photos of her. She is not returnable. But I will tell you, if I collected this era of doll, she would definitely stay in my collection. I’ve never seen one this beautiful. It will be packaged for safe arrival to your home. Vintage 1957 Mme Alexander ELISE Bride Doll AO w/ Hangtag in Box. Scroll down for larger views. This doll is an Elise Bride, made by Madame Alexander in 1957, the first year of the Elise Bride dolls. She is 16 1/2” high, jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbow, hips, knees & ankles. She has a gorgeous hard plastic Elise face. The coloring is wonderful with original paint, blue sleep eyes, intact lashes, feathered brows, lashes painted below her eyes, ruby lips, and very rosy cheeks. Her hair is auburn, still in the original curled set. The body is also excellent, hard plastic with vinyl over-arms and all joints working. She has a fashion doll body with a bust and high heel/flat feet. Marked: Alexander on her neck. Elise wears her original tagged bridal gown. The gown is white tulle with a satin sash, worn over a crispy white petticoat, white taffeta panties, seamed hose, a cute garter, and silver elastic strap high heel shoes. On her head is a chapel-length veil with a pink & white floral head band. She holds her matching floral bouquet, and wears her original pearl necklace & earrings, and a tiny wedding ring. She also comes with her original hang tag. Elise comes in her original box (#1740). The box and label are in very good condition. The original owners name (Julie) is written on the label. Everything about this doll is wonderful. She is clean, bright, and beautiful. Just slightly loose at the arms and loose elastic on her shoes. Otherwise pretty much mint condition. Beautiful Elise has a lovely painted head. The painted head dolls are the earliest dolls and very sought after. She has a brunette wig that has a few fly away hairs still in the original hair bar but and its original hairstyle. She has one split on outside of her left leg and one leg split on her inner right leg. She also has a little dot on her nose that is minor. But its really not that noticeable. She has a lovely blue green eyes and all her lashes! She is wearing a lovely rhinestone necklace and her panties have the elastic that is stretched. Super hard to find Elise in amazing lace wedding gown and veil. This is such a beautiful doll she has thick blonde hair, gorgeous blue green eyes with all her lashes. She was made in 1962 – for one year only – she comes in a lovely vintage wedding gown and veil -tagged. It is in beautiful shape however the elastic is stretched in the panties. I have also added some wedding slippers that I made. The veil does have a tear in it and it is quite dusty. I will leave the cleaning to the new owner as the veil is attached quite firmly to the head. The hose have a small flaw and I have pictured it. She comes from my private collection and is so beautiful. As you can see shes easy to pose and loves to sit in very expensive doll furniture.
