This is one of the sweetest Alexanders. All original Madame Alexander, Her face is flawless, excellent color, hair in perfect braids, original style. Her outfit is in excellent condition, and tagged, please look at the front of her skirt there are light specks. She is 17 tall of beauty, wonderful sleep eyes, and full lashes. BE STILL MY HEART! This is a beautiful platinum blonde Madame Alexander Kathy doll with the Maggie face. She has the deep suntan skin tone and such a wistful expression on her pretty face as she dreams of a forever home for Christmas! Kathy was made for only a short while in the very early 50s. She wears her original color block dress and one-piece panties and half slip with eyelet lace trim and ribbon bows at the leg openings. On her feet are rayon socks and black oilcloth center snap shoes. She is missing her black velvet beret. Kathy’s braids aren’t quite perfect and look like they’d been taken out over the years. We’ve replaced the rotted rubber bands with modern silicone bands. She still has her originally rubber band holding her together, so her stringing isn’t super tight, but it’s tight enough to hold a pose. She does have some play wear and a bit of play soil here and there, including a few tiny spots on her dress (see picture). The soles of her shoes also have some damage, with a crack running through one and the toe of the other sole missing (see last picture of Kathy sitting). Overall, Kathy is a beautiful, hard to find, early strung Maggie-faced doll. Won’t you give her a home to call her own this Christmas? Offering this beautiful vintage Madame Alexander baby doll, Baby Kathy, circa 1961. She is a soft vinyl drink/wet doll with a cryer, blue sleep eyes, molded hair and jointed arms, legs and head. What a sweet doll! She is marked Alexander on the back of her neck. Measures 17-1/2 inches long. Condition notes – please see all photos and ask questions if something is not clear. The top of her head has a bit of damage, hair color worn and small damage to the vinyl. There’s a bit of wear to her hair color all the way around. Bit of color loss on her lower lip, mouth and right cheek. Eyes open and shut easily but left eye has a little whiteness under the eyelash; you have to look for it. Cryer works when squeezed. Has original paint on it, marked Frey Mfg. Arms and legs are a little sticky when moving them, overall she’s a little tacky to the touch. She’s very clean, though. No bad odors, faint whiff of vinyl the smell of my and so many of our childhoods! Found wearing this dotted swiss organza pink dress with white lace trim, blue embroidery, peter pan collar and tiny pink buttons. Three metal snaps fasten in the back. Under the dress, she wears a cream-colored satin slip and panties. Two metal snaps fasten in the back. Slip is trimmed in same white lace and has the same blue embroidery. Panties’ waist elastic has lost it’s elasticity and they have a pink stain (1/4 spot). Otherwise, clothes are clean, free of tears, holes or other problems. She was found wearing a pink/cream cotton kerchief which I will send along just to protect her head; I didn’t photograph her in it. No shoes or socks. I believe her to be a Kathy doll but I can not be 100% sure as her box is not marked with her name and her outfit is very unique. Her box and dress retain the original store tags from the department store Stix, Baer & Fuller and I think she could have been a store special for them. Stix, Baer & Fuller was only found in St. Louis Missouri and was in operation from 1892 to 1984. This doll and box both have their fashion award medals which means she was produced sometime around 1950. I can not say enough about how beautiful this doll is. Her hair and facial coloring is absolutely pristine! Her hair is a beautiful strawberry blonde color and there is not a single hair out of place. Her hair has a silky shine and her braids are perfect with the most beautiful pink bows at their ends. Her facial coloring is bright and beautiful and she has the most outstanding brown eyes. Her brown eyes are clear and her lashes are nice and full. Her dress and pinafore are also in excellent condition with no holes, stains, tears or odors. The dress is pink with white polka dots and the sleeves and collar are trimmed in organdy. The dress has the remnants of a tag which was located under the collar and appears to be a Madame Alexander tag as you can still see a bit of the dark blue writing. The white organdy pinafore is trimmed with a pink ribbon that exactly matches the bows in her hair. The organdy of the pinafore has aged and is not as white as it once was as seen in the pictures. Under the dress she wears a white slip with attached bloomers. The slip and bloomers close with a square snap and are in excellent condition. The socks and shoes are also excellent with no issues to report. The doll came to us in her original box which has kept her safe all these years but is in terrible condition. It is truly falling apart and when I was picturing the box what was left of the lid broke in half and the rest is being held together with a lot of tape. All that being said it does lend to her originality and shows where the doll came from. This is such a fantastic doll with rare brown eyes and a beautiful dress and she will be a stand out in any collection. Please take a look at all my other Vintage doll offerings this week. She comes in her original tagged dress along with her original shoes and socks. Kathy’s face paint is beautiful, and her complexion is free of flaws. Her eyebrows are clearly defined, her eyelashes are good, and her eyes open and close although a bit sluggish. Her wig is in tact with the exception of the back of her neck where it looks like she may have originally had a hat attached?? She has one original bow on her pigtail. Her body is in great shape, but her stringing is a bit loose. Kathy’s tagged dress is in great shape. It has three snaps up the back, all intact. The sleeve elastic is stretched, but they remain puffed and display well. Her slip and underpants are not included. The tag at the top of the back neckline reads “Kathy” Madame Alexander New York USA. Her shoes and socks are in great condition.
