Vintage 1950′s SLW Madame Alexander-kins Doll – Original Factory Dressed Doll– Gorgeous!!!! I’m not sure of her name but the hat popped up under “Wendy Adores a Party”? These dolls don’t look like they’ve ever had their clothes removed so I’m not going to undress them. This one is a gorgeous SLW with brunette hair that stands alone and head turns when the legs are moved. Her coloring is near perfect as you can see in the photos. Everything about her is crisp including her hat, dress, slip and underwear. Her slip and underwear may have turned color the slightest bit but not the dress, pinafore, or hat. Her tag is perfect as well as her black side snap velvet shoes with fuzzy bottoms. Please ask questions, I will be happy to provide additional photos. This is a wonderful 1950′s Madame Alexander-kins Doll. She is BKW Kins which means she is a bent knee walker. She is in excellent condition with original blonde zig zag wig, bright coloring with brown brows, blue eyes that open and close freely, black under lashes, bright pink cheeks and coral red lips. Her body is in excellent condition with arms that will hold a pose and walker works, knees bend. Wendy is wearing a tagged Alex-kins nylon lace dress, undies, slip, kins smooth bottom shoes and rayon socks. From my personal collection, I have always loved this sweet Wendy. Her hard to find original ponytail wig is shiny and in the original set with original ribbons. She has a beautiful face, nice cheek color, flutter sleep eyes, and a wonderful soft expression. Her body is nicely strung with no splits or cracks. She does have some dark marks on her legs that I have never tried to remove. Wendy wears a Tagged Organdy dress in excellent crisp condition and Kins panties. She also has top Stitch pink shoes and rayon socks. Shoes are not perfect, see photos. Straps and snaps are strong, wear looks worse in magnified photos! A beautiful doll for your collection. This perfect oval-eyed straight-leg walker from 1954 is beautiful in a Little Southern Girl outfit. She comes straight from her original owner. I added the outfit, from another doll. The slip is relatively new. The dress is untagged, and the woman I bought it (and the hat) from had no info about it– she had inherited the doll. I used to think that this outfit had been recently reproduced by the Alexander Company, but now I’m not sure about that– I can’t find any recent ones. This dress looks exactly like the ones from 1953, and if the dress has NOT been reproduced by the Alexander Company, then the only conclusion I can draw is that this one is an original, from 1953. A collector has pointed this out to me, and another has noted that the hat even has a small white feather as part of the decoration– and that is consistent with the photo of the outfit in Patricia Smith’s World of Alexander-kins. It’s the first outfit pictured, on page 13. Additionally: This is a gorgeous doll. Ip paint is perfect– not inside or outside the lips as is often the case, or chipped within the lines. Her cheek color is deep and rich, her eyebrows and lower lashes are perfectly painted and unfaded. Her hair is gorgeous. This doll does not appear to have been played with. I won’t be lowering the price on her–she is well worth what I’m asking. And the more I learn about the dress and hat, the more the value increases. Kins Doll 1953 SLW Taffeta Outfit Box Blonde Wendy. Madame Alexander Kins Doll 1953 SLW Taffeta Outfit Box Blonde Wendy. You are purchasing a Madame Alexander Kins Doll 1953 SLW with a Jumper Taffeta, Matching bonnet, and Taffeta Bloomers attached to an organdy blouse original socks and the shoes may be a later 50s alexander wendy doll shoes with a box and lid. She has a blonde color hair and green eyes. She is in pat smith book on page 21 as a 1953 or early 1954 walker. Her body does do the walker movement. She is in cute displayable condition. I do not know if her box is the correct box as it has no number or writing with information. Its just an alexander smaller doll box with someone’s handwriting saying old doll on it. Her outfit is gorgeous and her cheeks are a nice coloring they have an orangey blush which looks really nice with the blonde hair. The outfit I believe is the correct coloring an in between red and pink I do not think its faded as it appears that way in the book and if its faded all three pieces are exactly the same color in all areas so its an even which I think thats almost impossible so I do not believe its faded. The outfit has minor soiling and a few minor stains all shown in the close ups overall its crisp and nice coloring. The white has aging. The organdy has a few minor pin holes. By the waist seam of the organdy there is a very small separation you can display without mends it is shown in the close ups. There is a small pop stitch on the crotch seam but no holes. The elastic is good in the bloomers. I believe the snaps may of been replaced as they are circle not square. The socks one has a small hole and both have stretch at the top. The shoes I think are replaced with later 50s or early 60s alex kins shoes as they are the suede with smooth bottoms and not the special stitching they used in the early shoes. They have some wear mostly on the bottom. The lace trims minor pulls in areas few minor broken lace threads. The hat has a small edge tear on the ribbon as shown in the close ups. She has some rubs to her colored blush as shown and some minor rubs to the eye brows. She needs a minor cleaning especially under her neck I do not clean old dolls with fear of damaging. She has minor scratches mostly on her arms and legs and I think some of it is factory as I see this frequently on the kins and minor wear. She does have a few very tiny splits on where the parts meet. They are on both upper thighs, her hip, and one on the neck which is very hard to see as her head covers it. All shown in the close ups. Her wig is nice with only minor fly aways and minor looseness to the curls its mostly in a nice setting. She is a pale color but her make up pops out. Her eyes open and closed. I gave you close ups of everything. She is still a very displayable doll I just wanted to detail any flaw I saw. She is a cutie. This swing is very hard to find Measure 10″ H x13″L. Very displayable item shown with Wendy kin + Cissette but they are not included just to show you how it will display. Condition: Vinyl is really nice its soft no stiff and no major flaws in it. Fringe is all there is has some soiling/age some pieces need to be brush down its minor. Metal works there is small areas of tarnish and rust specs but its here and there not all over and mostly on the back side of the chair and bottom. Nothing broken or missing. This is the darling HTF “Parlour Maid” #579 from 1956. You can see a picture of her in P. Smith’s book “The World of Alexander-kins” on page 83. This is a gorgeous bend-knee walker with bright all original facial coloring and a beautiful triple stitch auburn wig. The precious outfit consists of the tagged black taffeta dress with organdy apron and “doily” style headpiece. All are in very good condition with no stains, holes, or other problems. Under the dress she wears a very nice organdy slip with good original elastic, and matching organdy panties that are also in perfect shape. Her socks and fuzzy bottom shoes are also in excellent condition. Her outfit is completed with the original dust mop that is secured to her hand with the correct pink covered wire.
