Madame Alexander 1955 Cissy in Yellow Slipper Satin Evening Gown. This beautiful (first year) Cissy wears a very full ball gown featuring a dropped waist that is longer in the back. She has thick auburn hair pulled back with original spanner bar. She wears a hooped petticoat with attached panties and gold sandals and carries a muff of tulle with red roses. Everything is original and dress is tagged. Her only flaws are slight stains, one in front and one in back near hemline of skirt. I’ve tried to photograph without much luck. Satin is not the easiest to photograph with all the shimmers and shadows. Both are hardly noticeable if you are looking for them and she displays beautifully. She wears faux diamond necklace, earrings and bracelet. Elastic in her petticoat/panty and in her shoes has been replaced, as I don’t like to see sagging elastic. She is tightly strung and all joints work well. There are no splits, cracks or damage. This doll comes from my smoke-free home. Stunning Vintage Cissy Doll dressed in a gown of yellow slipper satin, and affectionately known as “Yellow-Topaz” by collectors. She has gorgeous coloring and is an early painted doll with a Yardley styled auburn wig that looks lovely with the yellow satin gown. She has nice even color throughout. The arms and head were restrung, and the body has NO splits or cracks. She has been reblushed, and is a truly. Lovely doll with skin tone that compliments her red wig nicely. There is no yellowing to original sealant. Her lips were re-glossed as well. Her blush was resealed, and she has the original velvet patina on her forehead. Her eyes are blue-green. She has all original lashes, and eyebrows. Her eye-shadow was enhanced to even it out, so that both eyes match. She has her beautiful auburn wig with original hair ties and spanner bar, and it is in the original set. The lower curls at the nape of her neck were retied. Her hair is long and full, and has many generous curls. She has her original hooped slip with restitched elastic. She has her original tulle muff with the original floral spray. She has her original necklace, and the silver trim was reinforced where it was fraying from age. The earrings are replacements made from pieces of the originals that were disintegrating. She has her original gold heels with the original elastic. This is a beautiful gown with lots of fabric that displays beautifully. It does have some lighter colored shadow spots, probably from steam or water at some time. There is an age spot on the lower front of the gown, which I have pictured. The gown is tagged and has all the original snaps. The doll is from a smoke-free environment. The doll is free of smoke smells, or other odors. There is no doll stand included. Here, for your consideration is one of the most beautiful dolls I have ever seen. This is a 20 inch Cissy from 1955, based on the information in my book. She is called “Blue Waltz”. Her gown is Blue heavy slipper satin with silver braid and “sapphire” accents. I just realized I see where one rhinestone is missing, but you can’t really tell unless you pick the fabric up and inspect it closely. I suppose it could be replaced. LOL Her gown has capped sleeves and is design detailed. She is wearing her matching slip with netting layers trimmed with satin ribbon. She is wearing panties, back seamed stockings and she will bring her original strappy heels. I put them in a little plastic bag and tied them to her arm, for fear of losing them. The elastic is stretched out, as so many of them are. In my opinion, she is drop dead gorgeous. She has a little white feather fan, but I do believe it is a replacement, as is her beautiful bandeau hat which seems to be a lovely copy of the original one. Notice the blue showing in her eyes. Based on everything I have been told and have learned, this is the original doll in her original gown with matching slip. Cissy does not appear to have any crotch cracks or knee cracks. She seems to have all her eyelashes and her face paint is just beautiful. Her coloring all over is just lovely, in my opinion. Now, there are some stains on the dress, not bad in my opinion, but I want to mention them. I took a picture of the ones on the back of her gown. In my opinion, they are not noticeable anywhere when she is on display, but you have to look closely to see them. They kind of disappear in the folds of that beautiful satin. Her hair appears to me to be mostly in the original set. Note the longer bangs. Oh yes, I just noticed you can see a small amount of the wig cap through her “hair” if you look closely. I really don’t know her history. This is the way she came to me. She isn’t absolutely perfect, but she is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. That is all I know to tell you right now.
