Madame Alexander Dolls

Madame Alexander dolls from the 60′s and 70′s. They were never played with, they have just been stored in a cabinet. There are both straight and bent knee dolls, mostly straight. Several of them need restrung. Some of them need some cleaning as seen in the pictures. There are 53 of them total. There is the complete little women collection, many international, various others. This is a beautiful doll that is in lovely shape to be the age that she is. Her neck is marked ALEXANDER 36. Underneath that is 59. I can find no manufacture markings on her body. Her dress is tagged Madame Alexander “Janie”. I believe it to be original for her. She is near perfect…. A small light freckle on her left leg just above her socks on her left leg there is a pink area there and one pink area on the upper thigh of the other leg and one in the center of her back just above her waist. I tried to show these in the pictures but the one her back didn’t show in the picture, so I didn’t use it. She has a tiny blue spot at the leg joint where it joins to the torso part of the body. Her hair is bright and shiny and seems to be clean. I’m unsure about the un-even part of the length (But I see the same thing on the Ideal 36 dolls). Her bangs are very nice and full. All of the plugs of her hair seem to be filled and good. Her face has a nice amount of color to her facial features. Light rosy color to cheeks… Eyebrows are beautifully arched and nice color. Lips have full color. Lashes are full and none are missing. Blue eyes with very slight greenish color match her dress. I have tried to describe her to the best of my ability. I’ve looked her over from head to toe and I’m impressed with the 57 year old doll. Her little black patent shoes have McKids incised on the soles. They fit her very well. I’m sure they are a replacement. They are new and in like new condition. Panties are a cotton knit (with a small hole on the inside crotch lining- doesn’t show on the outside) and I’m sure they are a replacement. The socks are a replacement, because they are not 100% cotton. The dress is original to the doll and it is tagged Madame Alexander Janie. It is a turquoise blue with a white Peter Pan collar, with a continuous line of buttons, down the back of the dress and 2 buttons on the front for a buttoned on apron of turquoise and white stripe. All buttons are there. They are buttons of that era and I’m sure they are original. The elastic on the puffed sleeves has been replaced. (not a perfect job), but the sleeves are puffed as they should be. There is one thing to note…. There are some spots on the back of the waist of the dress that have a discoloration. Not extremely noticeable, but they are there. I tried to wash and they didn’t come out. Take a look at the very last picture. I starched and ironed the dress and apron. Vintage Madame Alexander 8 1950s, Alexander Kins Doll, Straight Leg Walker. Her eyes open and close correctly, no splits in her seams. Her hair is in excellent condition, face has great color. She has a head turning walking mechanisim. Her sleep eyes open and close correctly. Shes marked Alex on her back and is dressed in her original white panty and black side snap shoes (fuzzy bottoms). She comes with a box – not sure if original correct box or not. She has on a blue and pink check dress with under garment. All the buttons are attached and the shoes and socks are present -socks are a little stretched out. We have several dolls including more Madame Alexanders. The dolls do not smell or have any odor. These came out of an estate – a very clean home. Since these are vintage items and I know some collectors are very particular about the condition of the dolls – so please look at the photos to determine condition and value for yourself. Are Cissy with straight arms in need of significant TLC. Her entire body needs to be reassembled. The torso is hollow and has a bit of the hard plastic odor. The wig also smells like hard plastic odor, but that may be from being stored next to the torso. Legs and arms do not smell. Crack in one leg. The tulle on the dress is matted, but cascade of flowers still in decent shape. Includes pale pink tulle petticoat. Red hairdo is really pretty and in original set. She wears one earring. Eyes are blue tinged with gold around the pupil. Right eyelashes have been slightly snipped in one area. I cannot find the gloves, but I feel like I may have them somewhere. Doll is featured in a Madame Alexander book. I found the gauntlets! They are pink’ please see photos.
