1953 Strung 8 Brunette Alexander-Kin Bridesmaid High Color! She is so pretty! This doll is as-found wearing a near mint 1953 Bridesmaid dress but no hat or bouquet. She has blue eyes that open and close easily, full brows brows and a pouty mouth. She has wonderful rosy cheeks with no rubs. She has been re-strung and her body is clean with no stains, splits or repairs. The dress is tagged and she wears her correct long pantalets and a long Alexander-Kin half slip. I noticed that the lace is different on the slip and undies. Her shoes are very scuffed with fuzzy soles and sturdy snaps topped with correct rayon socks. If you are looking for a beautiful 1953 doll she is a stand out. No odors and from a non-smoking home. Be My Valentine, Maggie! Well, look who Cupid sent over an Oh-So-Cute little 14 strung Maggie! She’s wearing her all original red cotton dress with ivory collar & cuffs… A tiny black velvet bow punctuates the middle of the collar, and little pearl studs accent the turned up cuffs. The bodice center has a tucked & sewn placket with 3 silver studs down the center, which match the silver buckle on her tiny off-white belt. The dress has 2 front pockets, with one holding Maggie’s original vintage lace hanky! Closure is at the back with three square snaps. Please notice the crisp tag under the back collar – most of the tags on Maggie’s original clothing are generic with a size, while this. Tag reads, “Maggie” a rare find! Underneath Maggie wears her original eyelet-trimmed white cotton panties & slip set, and on her feet her original socks & black faux suede dress shoes a little of the gold has raveled off the right shoe lacing. This ensemble is in outstanding condition with no rips, holes, tears or odors. Maggie is carrying her original pink beauty box, and inside you’ll find six plastic hair rollers and a blue comb, all attached to the original cardboard. Little Maggie is absolutely beautiful; her features & coloring are gorgeous & all original. She has a gorgeous thick platinum wig with lots of curls, and the original brass barrettes are still in place. Maggie has crystal clear blue-green. Maggie Is Happy… It’s Almost Summer! Check this cutie out, in her beautiful, original tagged outfit! The white organdy blouse with ruffle-tiered sleeves has a square neckline, buttons at the back, and it’s decorated with the original pink velvet bow. There are rhinestones sprinkled on the waistband & front of the skirt. This adorable outfit is in outstanding condition, with no holes, rips, tears or odors. Underneath Maggie wears a stiff taffeta slip (not original, and probably homemade) which is a bit too long for this skirt, but a slight “hike” at the waist does the trick! She has lace trimmed taffeta panties as well. On her feet, her original socks & black side-snap shoes, and she’s wearing a small vintage faux-pearl bracelet. Last but not least, Maggie’s faithful Cocker Spaniel will accompany her to her new home. He’s original vintage. Steiff, and retains his original collar & name tag! This is one gorgeous girl… She has beautiful features & suntan coloring, with lightly refreshed blush. We offer for your consideration a gently displayed 17″ or 18″ Madame Alexander, marked ALEXANDER, hard plastic Mary Martin doll with a lovely sun tanned matte complexion. She is from the years 1948 through 1950. Her nicely blushed cheeks and full lovely lips are stunning. She is strung nicely, strong and tight for her head and legs, so she can hold a pose beautifully for display. Her arms do not hold a pose. Someday, in the far future, you will want to have her restrung. — —-Her coloration is even and true on her face, torso, arms, and legs. Please take note of her stunning unclouded eyes with full intact molded eyelashes that fringe her eyes. Plus, she has the lighter color eyelids for a real striking appearance. Her eyebrows are unfaded. Her caracul hair is full and even with no thinning or missing areas. I see a little fleck of missing color under her right ear. — —-This doll is one of hundreds of dolls we bought from an adult lady collector downsizing her estate. Please note, she is as close to factory fresh as you can find for an almost 70 year-old doll. Her coloring is even, beautifully blushed, and her color is unfaded. Her lips are bright and full. She is marked, very lightly, on the back of her neck. I can make out “EXAND”. —- —-Both of her clear unclouded eyes open and close completely. Her long molded eyelashes are complete and intact. Her eyes are stunning. Her outfit is custom to her, and an amazing fit, so it seems it is original. — Wow, I have never seen such an exquisite gown. This dress is not tagged. I have now seen the Mary Martin dress, and I know it is a white formal. There were some variations in the colors of trimming : red or green are the colors I have seen. I found the Doll Edition June 15, 2018 was a lovely photo. You can find many photos by googling Mary Martin formal or checking out the Doll Edition on Facebook. The fit, the style, it mustbe a classic over the top amazing Madame Alexander design. One could be a tiny pin prick size hole, but it is so little it is hard to see if it is just thinned. The snap buttons are well attached in the back. The top layer appears free of flaws, holes, or issues. The satin layer underneath is close to factory fresh. Included with this dress is the original velvety matching waist tie, her aged but displayable bright and crisp satin no heel shoes, and her intact lovely nylon pantyhose. Her white pretty panties are no longer stretchy. —She is intact and complete. She is beautiful and free of issues. —-She was only rarely removed from her showcase by the original adult collector. The doll was stored in a cool dark room in her pet and smoke free house. Her untagged dress is fresh and crisp with no major detracting noticeable major sign of age related, or sun, discoloration. I feel the photographs portray her well. The satin on the dress, panties, and slip are all clean, bright, and very displayable. —-Her hair is full with no missing or thinning areas. It is very true to the original style. The color of her hair is stunning. —She shows no age or discoloration. She does not show any marks, or rubs of missing color on her fingers, legs, or body. She does have the minor marks on her right leg, but you will not noticem and I believe they are washable. She shows nothing majorly detracting from her displayable condition. — —-Her coloration is much more bright and blushed than she appears in her photos. She is complete with no chews, no splits under her ears or on her seams, or major damage. We will not include her stand. — Please write with any questions. Gorgeous vintage 14 Marme doll. Eyes open and close as they should. She is super clean. No bad or sour smells. She has a small area on the right side of her head where you can see her scalp. I dont think this is a bald spot. I think the scalp is visible because if the way her hair is styled. So I believe all hair is present. I think her hair in the back should be covering the spot but its not. You can see that the hair is pulled back a little further on that side in the photos. Up for your consideration is a vintage 14 Madame Alexander Little Women Marme Doll. She is a strung doll. She holds her pose well. She has sleep eyes that open and close freely. She has a wig cap that is in good shape, but does have dust that needs to be cleaned as shown in photos. She is a hard plastic doll. Clothes are original to her except maybe the black lace shawl. I believe that is just something thats been added to her. Her dress is tagged. It has some fade spots on her dress, also as shown in photos. Her shoes are missing. She does not come with the stand. This is a wonderful 1953 Strung alexanderkin wendy in a red vinyl case with assorted clothing, hats, and accessories. Wendy has no splits or discolorations. Her wig has a few flyaways. None of the clothing is tagged. It is all in nice condition except the yellow striped dress. She wears excellent top stitch shoes, alexanderkin panties, and a pretty dress with lace trim. From my personal collection, I have always loved this sweet Wendy. Her hard to find original ponytail wig is shiny and in the original set with original ribbons. She has a beautiful face, nice cheek color, flutter sleep eyes, and a wonderful soft expression. Her body is nicely strung with no splits or cracks. She does have some dark marks on her legs that I have never tried to remove. Wendy wears a Tagged Organdy dress in excellent crisp condition and Kins panties. She also has top Stitch pink shoes and rayon socks. Shoes are not perfect, see photos. Straps and snaps are strong, wear looks worse in magnified photos! A beautiful doll for your collection.
