This is a Madame Alexander Cissy dress from 1956 #2043. Madame Alexander Made 3 variations of the torso gown. Comes with her black tulle slip with attached panties. Her tag is present but faded. She likely had more flowers at shoulders and in the gown. She has a few pin holes in the tulle and flounce but they don’t really show. There is some fading near the hem. The dress shows beautifully. There are no rips. Hard to Find Dress. My dolls are all around 50-80 years old. I consider them TLC and some are in better condition than others. I try to mention anything I see, but please read the description and look at the pictures. Wow this is a great MADAME ALEXANDER Cissy to restore to her original beauty as shown in the new Cissy Reference Rarities & Restoration book by Kiley Ruwe Shaw! Doll needs her hair washed and restyled to its original bob hairdo and there is no hair missing. She has a nice full wig and it isn’t messed to bad. She needs her head restrung as it is very loose but it would need to be removed anyway to restore her. As for her face the good news is her eyes work well and no missing lashes along with good color. Needs to be reblushed as there is a finger print from the last reblush. She has bad neck rubs which need to be recolored. Great news is she doesn’t have any cracks or splits. Her right upper arm has a tear but can be hidden in her torso. This doll has such a pretty look which is why she is a perfect candidate to restore. The Turquoise velvet pants are in great condition with no flaws. They have the gold waistband and are not stretched out and don’t have any holes. The corduroy sweater with wool back and sleeves is also great with only 2 very small holes as shown in photo. Outfit is clean without orders. Here for your consideration is a vintage 10 Madame Alexander Presents Cissette Doll from the 50′s. This is #973 that I believe came out around 1957 or so. This doll has blonde hair in the original fancy do and blue eyes. Her facial paint is amazing for her age with rosy cheeks and pink lips. She is wearing a black velvet strapped gown trimmed in black sequins. Topping that is a white ermine capelet adorned with flowers. She has sparkling rhinestone drop earrings and a matching bracelet. She has white underwear, a blue slip, hose and black strappy heeled sandals. This is a beautiful little doll. There is some faint black staining on her torso from the black gown and she has a slightly musty odor but not too bad. Her hangtag is missing but there is a booklet showcasing the Cissette dolls. Box is original but in pretty rough shape… I will include a custom stand that is a fair match to the doll. Please ask any questions you may have and let the pictures be your guide. We offer for your consideration a gently displayed, vintage 1959, I believe, Cissy doll wearing her stunning tagged Cissy velvet gown. Her face is lovely and even tone with highly blushed cheeks. Her lips are full and unfaded. Her molded eyelashes are intact and undamaged. Her eyebrows are nice and distinct. Her hair is very close to the original style with full curls of a thick and full wig with no thinning areas. Her long dangling rhinestone earrings are intact and really highlight her timeless classic face. The earrings left no sign of green in her ears. You can see that she was well preserved and treated like a queen. She is from a pet and smoke free home. Her unclouded eyes are bright, engaging, and she is mostly intact. Her coloring on her face, torso, and limbs are even in color and very displayable. Her two tone eyes are exquisite and framed by totally intact molded eyelashes and lower painted lashes. Her skin tone is light and even throughout all of her face, the torso, her arms, and legs. I can see she is mostly free of splits or cracks in her plastic legs, knees, and hips, and thighs. In the last photo you will see a small split in the seam of her thigh right above the side of her knee. Her arms are the type of arms used on the 1959 Cissy mold. Unfortunately, I need to send you a photo of her index pointer finger has a slight and unnoticeable cut on the left hand. I will be able to send you a photo, you will not be able to see an issue, but at least you will see her finger still appears very displayable. Her hands could possibly use a gentle cleaning. This doll is one of hundreds of dolls we bought from an adult lady collector downsizing her estate. Please note, she is as close to very displayable as you can find for a 65 year-old doll. You can see that her velvet formal gown is in incredible and very displayable condition. It is free of snags, holes, or thinning. The rhinestone brooch is nicely attached to the mid-bodice of her dress. The four snap buttons are well attached. The tag is still nice, bright, and bold. Her stole is bright, full, and shows no thinning areas. Her hat is full, white, and beautiful. Her entire outfit is free of odors, issues, or signs of discoloration. Her pantyhose are intact and undamaged. Her bright white gloves appear factory fresh, or close to it, the bright white is incredible paired with the deep velvet color of her dress. The rhinestone studded heels and both of her shoes are close to factory fresh with very stretchy elastic straps. The crisp slip is still bright, very clean, and still has a stretchy elastic waist. The panties appear still bright with stretchy waist. Her original hat box is very bright and displayable with no issues or damage. She was only rarely removed from her showcase by the original adult collector. The doll was stored in a cool dark room in her pet and smoke free house. Her head poses nicely, and it has a very stable connection. Her arms are very poseable. Her legs are well connected. Her dress shows no noticeable signs of age related discoloration; it is incredibly rare and beautiful. I do not see any obvious thinning areas of velvet. She shows no damage, chews, stains, marks, or splits. I assure you she is complete and whole. We are consigning hundreds of similar dolls for this owner. This is a lovely example of a Madame Alexander CISSY Doll in the Walking the Dog outfit from 1956. She is missing the blue necklace and the dog, but has the wonderful pink shoes which were exclusive to this outfit. The black velvet skirt is flawless with a perfect magenta pink velvet waistband with metal flowers. Many times the velvet is shredded. Stocking and bloomers are fine. As for this doll no problems, no cracks or splits and wonderful hair. Looking above her left eyebrow there is some black lines, don’t know what they are, but they are there. Netting kind of hides them though. I know I just tore this doll apart but she really is a fantastic looking doll. Her stringing is good and tight. No international orders please. Super rare beautiful doll in amazing condition! Vintage Madame Alexander-kins Melanie in Green Velvet from 1956. Madame Alexander Doll – 8 in. The dress is tagged, clean and in excellent condition. The top of the bodice has the original trim. She is wearing black gauntlet fingerless gloves, which are exclusive to this outfit. She also wears her original rhinestone drop earrings and bracelet. Underneath the gown is a full length nylon crinoline slip with ruffled tulle underneath. She is also wearing her original taffeta panties, nylons, and black heels, all of which are in very nice, clean, condition. She originally came with a white faux fur stole, which the owner lost over the years. I have included a Madame Alexander Black Velvet cape. The doll is made from infused plastic and has beautiful cheek color, clear blue eyes and full lashes. Her hair is clean, shiny and in the original up-do style. She retains the blush to her knees and there a no seam splits or other flaws on her body. I have included several pictures to show the condition. Please enlarge them for the best view.
