Madame Alexander Dolls

This sweet doll is a Texas Hurricane Harvey survivor! She came to me in her original outfit, with her original dress and panties, hat and socks and shoes. Her original shoes were very worn and in poor condition so I have replaced them with new pink side snap shoes. I have also added a pink satin ribbon at her waist to match her outfit. This is a gorgeous RARE brunette Big Binnie Winnie Walker by Madame Alexander, in her original outfit. Her cotton panties are full at the hip and snap at the waist, and have gathered ruffles at the leg; her cotton slip is a dress slip, full length under her dress and has lovely lace trim. NOTE: When I got her, her hat had many small moth holes in it from being in her prior owner’s storage. I turned her hat inside out, as the pink had faded; and carefully hand-stitched vintage velvet fabric flowers to her hat — everywhere she had a moth hole. This is her original hat from the Madame Alexander outfit, with its original black fabric ties; but I simply added very vintage cotton and velvet forget me not and other flowers to it to match her dress. See photos for how it looks now. I think it turned out quite nice. This doll has a gorgeous face, with her original dark brunette wig, with curls in their original set under her bonnet or hat. She has big blue green eyes, red lips, rosy cheeks and a sweet upturned nose. Her coloring is quite even, with exception of her right arm which is slightly lighter in color than her left. It is not obvious though as you can see in the photos. I have added black fingerless, hand crocheted gloves to her outfit; these gloves were made for me in Canada by a very talented seamstress. They fasten at the wrist with tiny pearls and fit her perfectly. This is a very old “Walker Doll” but her walker mechanism works just fine; when you move her legs her head turns from side to side. No props in the photos are included; the doll stand is not included. My home is SMOKE FREE and PET FREE. For your consideration today a Wendy Bride #760 1963-64. She is hard plastic and a Bend Knee Walker. She is tagged on her back Alex. She wears a bridal gown with layers of lace on the skirt and the bodice is organdy tapered with a necklace of white miniature pearls attached to the gown. Crinoline is attached to the gown. She wears organdy panties and silk shoes with a rhinestone on the center. She doesn’t wear stockings. Gown is tagged: Wendy Kin. Doll is in very good condition. The gown is also in very good condition no rips, tears. However, since it is white and over 50 years old, it is not mint white. This is a very rare Madame Alexander Barbara Jane doll. Barbara Jane was made only during 1952. She is a 29 vinyl doll with a cloth body. Her limbs and her head are both stuffed, so she is a substantial doll. Barbara Jane is in very good to excellent vintage condition. Her face coloring is very bright and deep, and her brown sleep eyes have full lashes and work well. Her vinyl limbs are clean and unmarked, except for a tiny mark that look like it might have been caused by ink on her right arm, and another one on the outside of her right pinky finger. There are also dark marks that are about an inch long and half an inch wide on the back of both of her calves. These marks look exactly like bruises. Other than these small flaws, her body looks just about perfect. Her cloth torso is also clean and in excellent condition. She is wearing her complete, original tagged outfit, which consists of a red checked dress, a white linen pinafore with red rosettes pinned to the pockets, a full, white cotton slip and panties, rayon socks, and very cool, open-toed shoes that look like real leather, although I think they are probably vinyl. Her clothing is clean and in very good vintage condition. The only damage I could find on it anywhere was a small vertical rip about 1.5 long right at the waistline of her pinafore. This is visible in the photos. One of the rosettes on her pinafore is also a replacement, because the original rosette fell to pieces when I was undressing her to take pictures. Barbara Jane’s wig may also be a replacement. I found a red wig that is similar in style and color to the one that she is wearing pinned to the underside of her dress. So, I think someone may have replaced her wig at one point and preserved the original by pinning it to her dress. The original wig is brittle and is missing a lot of hair in the front, but I will, of course, include it with the doll. This is a very hard to find Alexander doll, and this one is in fantastic condition for her age. Don’t miss out on the chance to add this little girl to your collection. These composition quintuplet dolls measure 7 tall and are well marked. It is embossed’Alexander’ on their backs and also on the backs or their necks you can see a marking. Their original clothing smells a bit musty – like they’ve been packed away for a long time. Two still has the cloth label attached to the collar. Three of the 5 have some degree of touch up paint on their faces. One doll needs her arms restrung. However, the composition is in decent condition with very slight paint wear on the backs of their legs. No cracking or breaks, or missing fingers. Very cute clothing – each in a different color.
