This is a Madame Alexander 8 doll named Wendy in a Cabana outfit (#520). She is dressed for a day at the beach or the pool! She is a bend knee hard-plastic walker doll from 1958. She is wearing a rare tagged “Alexander-kins” bathing suit with a tie-on skirt, sun hat, and darling red glasses. Her blue sandals are in perfect condition with fuzzy bottoms. We offer for your consideration a gently displayed beauty of a 1950s bent leg walker Wendy face doll with lovely original triple stitched Tosca wig styled into her original and close to factory fresh condition. She enjoys easy open and close bright stunning eyes, mostly unfaded eyebrows, and high colored lips and cheeks. She is listed, as found, in a very displayable condition. She was a walker, but the walking mechanism no longer functions as it did originally. Her head and legs are well attached. Her arms are well connected, but perhaps she will need restringing someday. —Her molded eyelashes are intact and lovely. She does not hold a pose with her arms. She cannot stand without a doll stand. She is tagged Alexander-kins Meg. Her slip, dress, pinafore, bloomers, socks, and shoes are all clean, displayable and enjoy well attached buttons and stretchy elastic on the waist. Her panties no longer have stretchy elastic. The soft and, fuzzy bottom, to the shoes is beautiful with intact straps and buttons. —She is a doll free of odors, blemishes, issues, no major, or minor, splits to her plastic, and perfect little fingers and toes. She does show any splits. Her hair is close to factory fresh with a stunning bright blond glow and only a few hairs out of place. She is marked ALEX on her back. This is a complete set of the African American Calendar Dolls. I was told only 50 were made. The dolls were made in a limited edition for sale individually but only 50 complete sets were made. A rarer doll in an unusual mid size. Should be in the home of a serious collector. ITEM SKU or Number. No seen crazing, hair intact. Tagged clothing, no wrist tag nor pin. NUMBER OF ITEMS OFFERED? Vintage/antique Jane Withers Madame Alexander doll circa 1937-39. Composition doll, open mouth, straight leg, working sleep eyes with eyelashes, painted single stroke brows and painted lower lashes. Jane Withers was a 1930s child actress, a contemporary to Shirley Temple. Madame Alexander did not secure the Shirley Temple endorsement, and instead opted to endorse Jane Withers. String has not been tightened but is stable, eyes make a soft thunk when they open and close. Inside her eyes may have age related color changes. Beautiful wig/hair like wine color. Original dress, bottom is wool plaid, top is white with short sleeve with a black vest which has white trim. I see no imperfections visible in her clothing. All under dress, socks and shoes are intact. Fingers are intact, did not remove shoes to check toes. No immediately seen crazing, cracks or other damage but I have not undressed the dol. This is a rarer sized, already rare doll. Overall good condition for her age with tagged dress. COMMENTS IN ALL OFFERS. Vintage Alexander Cissy outfit from the 1950s or earlier 1960s. Blue cotton dress with white lace trim, blue straw hat with flowers and original nylons. Some yellow discoloration on the edge of the bodice lace. Some light discoloration in a couple a places near the hem. Nylons are original and without runs or holes. BEAUTIFUL Rare 14 1949-50 MADAME ALEXANDER LUCY BRIDE. Up for sale is a very nice Madame Alexander doll from around 1949-50. She has been stored in a glass cabinet. She has on an elaborate white satin gown that is trimmed in lace and rhinestones. Her slip, panties, hose and shoes are also original. The shoes do show some wear. Hose have a hole. The gown is a little wrinkled. Her blonde hair is in original do. Face is nice and eyes are working good with full eyelashes. Her veil is not in great shape with several holes. I tried to show it.
