Madame Alexander Dolls

Lovely vintage 1950s Cissy doll by Madame Alexander. Marked “ALEXANDER” on the back of her head. She measures 20 inches tall. Blonde (reddish tone) wig with some tightly rolled curls on her right side of her face. Hair is a bit mussed and could use a bit of styling. She does NOT have pierced ears. Hard plastic body with vinyl jointed arms. Blushed hands and knees. Really pretty face paint and a lovely sweet expression on her face. She will hold a pose. She sits and can bend her knees. Her head is a little wobbly. He eyes open and close. Some of her right eye lashes are missing. Her left eye lashes are full. She has a brass doll ring on her right hand original to Cissy???? and when removed you will notice there is some verdigris (discoloration) on her right ring finger from the ring being there for a long time. I have not tried to remove the discoloration. She is wearing a cute Tulip Print cotton circle skirt and matching blouse. The blouse is missing the snaps on the back so it is pinned in place. She is wearing what I believe to be her original Cissy Can Can rick rack taffeta slip with her panties with lace trim. The slip’s waist elastic has stretched out some. There are a couple of spots on the slip and a couple of small tears. Panties waist is fairly tight. Did not notice any tears or spots on the panties. The skirt and blouse has been freshly hand laundered and no spots or tears noted. I did not wash the slip or panties. Comes with her seamed stockings with elastic at the top. Elastic is in good condition and stays up. There is a small hole on the back of one nylon stocking at the calf. And noticed a small hole on the heel of her left foot. She has some rub marks on both sides of her neck. Rub marks on both side of her inner legs. No cracks noted on her legs or body. Small mark on the back of her right leg at calf where I think her stocking has gotten stuck on her leg over the years. I have not tried to remove the residue from the seamed stocking on her leg for fear of doing damage to her body. Will leave that to the doll experts. Small mark glue residue?? on the back of her upper left thigh right under her buttock. Her soft vinyl left arm has a small tear near the underarm. It was noticed when I pulled her arm a little further out of the joint. No chew marks on her hands. PLEASE look at all the photos and fully read the description. VHTF Vintage Cissy Walks her Dog Madame Alexander. Vintage 1956 Madame Alexander Cissy “Walks the Dog”! A beautiful 1956 Cissy “Walks the Dog” made by the Madame Alexander Company. This is a beautiful Cissy doll with blonde hair. One small split at knee. The rest of her body is perfect no splits or cracks at hips or anywhere except the one on leg. She is tightly strung and holds a pose nicely. No missing eyes lashes and eyes are a beautiful clear blue. Cissy is wearing her original outfit that consists of a white wool top trimmed at neckline with rolled elastic and closes on the back with 3 snaps , a black velvet swing skirt with a distinct magenta velvet waistband accented with jewels, a flocked hat with metal fleur-de-lis accent often found on crowns the netting is gone, pink and black heels in perfect condition. The elastic is in amazing shape for how old lots of stretch. Her original blue pearls, white can-can slip, white lace trimmed panties and nylons. You have choice of dog I have her original white dog or a sweet terrier dog to walk. The doll and the outfit are both in very good condition. We could not find a tag on the outfit but know it is right and original. This top is wool. It is made of Australian wool that has cotton lining. I had it made from a very talented seamstress. It snaps up back has buttons on back for original look. A wonderful Cissy Doll from Madame Alexander! Doll and dress are in beautiful clean condition. It looks to have been taken care of very well. It is free of any odors. Has original shoes and white undergarment. You may have to gently press the dress to get some of the wrinkles out. The body is very clean. I don’t see any knee cracks or damge. The gold dotted hairnet has mostly deteriorated. This is the finest Cissy I’ve ever come across. I also have a Princess Charming with an outfit I’ve never seen before and a Cinderella in separate auctions so be sure to see those as well. Foe some reason my pictures turned out a little light today. The profile picture is how vibrant the colors are to this dress. I can provide you more pictures. DIONNE QUINTUPLETS – VINTAGE COMPOSITION – COMPLETE SET OF FIVE. ALL ORIGINAL – CIRCA: 1935 – 1945. This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. This is a complete and original set of 5 Dionne Quintuplets. They are 8 inch toddlers. For reference see page #16 in’Doll Values’ 13th Edition by Linda Edward. I do not have their boxes. They are so cute – how can you not love them? Each has her original dress; diaper; underskirt; name bib; bonnet; and knit slippers. Each has a different color in the ribbon on the bonnet and slippers and name on bib. I had questioned the originality of the slippers but on careful examination; the ribbon on the slippers is the exact ribbon (color & stitching & color fading) that is on the bonnets. The color also matches exactly the names on their bibs. They are painted eye and molded hair. And of course, those brown side glancing eye’s. There is no repainting as examined by a black light. All have all their fingers. Two of them have a very tiny nose paint chip off (must have fallen at one point) and a third has crazing down the forehead. There is no crazing on the bodies. This is Rosamund Bridesmaid by Madame Alexander in 1951. The description in my reference book for this doll follows: Dressed in frothy gown of net, bound with satin and satin bodice. Two fluffy skirts cascade to her feet over an underdress to match. Trimmed with satin streamers and rosebuds. Her head dress is straw lace with rosettes of pink rosebuds over each ear. (clothes did come in assorted colors). This reference is in Madame Alexander Collector’s Dolls ed. My doll seems to be complete even though I’m at least the second owner. She has the most beautiful color of hair- almost an auburn brunette. Most importantly- NO HARD PLASTIC ODOR! At sometime she did have something pinned to her dress so you will see the small indentations on the bodice. She is really a gorgeous doll! Please feel free to ask questions!
