20 Cissy Doll 1958 (Doll Only). I found her wearing her Flowery painted gown and hat (they are in separate listings). She can be seen on page 137 in “Cissy Reference Rarities Restoration” and page 39 of “The Cissy Files” by Kiley Ruwe Shaw. She is in non play, lovely condition. The only flaw is a separation on outside left knee. She has been restrung with new bands, otherwise all original gorgeous face, eyes and wig. Very clean and no odors. Here is an extremely rare , signed Madame Alexander, hard plastic, “Margaret Ice Skater” , doll with original, pink taffeta, tagged skating dress with pink marabou & flower trim. She has the Margaret face and stands, 14 1/2 tall with lovely sleep blue eyes, perfect inset eyelashes as well as painted lower eyelashes, eyebrows and closed mouth. Her soft auburn, full wig is in the original set in curls with thick bangs and adorned with pink satin ribbon and flower trim. She wears matching pink satin ribbon and flower sash and wonderful matching pink taffeta trimmed panties and original gold ice skates. She is in excellent condition with no holes or tears in her gown, no cracks, chips or scuffs, no repairs, no odors or stains and is from a smoke free home. (loc 50) See references on page 78-79, Mme. Lovely vintage 1950s Cissy doll by Madame Alexander. Marked “ALEXANDER” on the back of her head. She measures 20 inches tall. Blonde (reddish tone) wig with some tightly rolled curls on her right side of her face. Hair is a bit mussed and could use a bit of styling. She does NOT have pierced ears. Hard plastic body with vinyl jointed arms. Blushed hands and knees. Really pretty face paint and a lovely sweet expression on her face. She will hold a pose. She sits and can bend her knees. Her head is a little wobbly. He eyes open and close. Some of her right eye lashes are missing. Her left eye lashes are full. She has a brass doll ring on her right hand original to Cissy???? and when removed you will notice there is some verdigris (discoloration) on her right ring finger from the ring being there for a long time. I have not tried to remove the discoloration. She is wearing a cute Tulip Print cotton circle skirt and matching blouse. The blouse is missing the snaps on the back so it is pinned in place. She is wearing what I believe to be her original Cissy Can Can rick rack taffeta slip with her panties with lace trim. The slip’s waist elastic has stretched out some. There are a couple of spots on the slip and a couple of small tears. Panties waist is fairly tight. Did not notice any tears or spots on the panties. The skirt and blouse has been freshly hand laundered and no spots or tears noted. I did not wash the slip or panties. Comes with her seamed stockings with elastic at the top. Elastic is in good condition and stays up. There is a small hole on the back of one nylon stocking at the calf. And noticed a small hole on the heel of her left foot. She has some rub marks on both sides of her neck. Rub marks on both side of her inner legs. No cracks noted on her legs or body. Small mark on the back of her right leg at calf where I think her stocking has gotten stuck on her leg over the years. I have not tried to remove the residue from the seamed stocking on her leg for fear of doing damage to her body. Will leave that to the doll experts. Small mark glue residue?? on the back of her upper left thigh right under her buttock. Her soft vinyl left arm has a small tear near the underarm. It was noticed when I pulled her arm a little further out of the joint. No chew marks on her hands. PLEASE look at all the photos and fully read the description. This is the 20-21 Cissy by Madame Alexander. She is coming to you in a handmade lingerie suit (not pictured). She does not have earring holes but with her very fulll wig you can rarely get a glimpse of her ear lobes. I warn you, Cissy can be addictive, at least she is for me, I love them! This Cissy is one I got from Susan Wells Roberts (Pearlsgirls). I totally trust that Susan has given the thorough gone over with the Cissy’s, she is absolutely amazing with them. Susan is another master at restoration when it comes to these dolls. This Cissy has an excellent body. I have trouble getting her left leg bent all the way at the knee. It bends about half way for me. I have shown in my pictures that Cissy has a few marks on the neck. You really can’t notice it especially if wearing pearls. Her face is sealed with a matte sealer, not done by me, came this way to me. She has beautiful blush and a tremendously thick wig. The more I look at it, I believe the torso has had a bit of applied body makeup in an attempt to cover the scratch marks on her neck. I haven’t done anything to her, only enjoyed displaying her. She has the sweetest face!! Cissy has beautiful clear eyes that are nicely set. Eyes that are not both focused on the same thing is one thing that drives me crazy if my dolls have it and this girl has beautifully set eyes. The stand is not included. The dresses and accessories shown are not included, only a one piece handmade lingerie suit. Our home is non smoking and she has no odors.
