This beautiful Cissy Doll Rhinestone Side Drape Blue Gown is a stunning evening gown with rhinestone accents. Reproduced in the likeness of the original, this gown is created in crisp taffeta and fully lined in cotton organdy. The gown features a long form-fitting bodice attached to a full trained skirt topped with a long side draped sash. Cissy looks ready for the red carpet in this rhinestone draped dress. The dress has been created by RubieMae of Forget Me Not Dolls. This gown originally came in many colors in 1956 and is so reminiscent of this golden age of couture fashion. The dress, pictured in The Cissy Files book on page 33, came in many different colors. Although the dress is pictured with the slip underneath the gown, it IS NOT INCLUDED. The hooped half slip adds volume to the gown and is a little longer in the back to accommodate the train on the dress. The off-white taffeta slip has an elastic waist that closes with two square snaps in the back, and a deep crinoline ruffle along the lower edge. This is another great estate find! This is an untagged, authentic 1956 Madame Alexander Cissy blue Bridesmaid gown and original headpiece. Has 1 hole in the tulle overlay, which I didn’t even notice until closely inspecting it. Also has some light soil spots, in several areas, which are a bit hard to see unless your looking up close. Hard plastic socket head, jointed lady body with jointed vinyl arms, auburn hair, sleep eyes, painted and applied lashes, wears tagged navy blue taffeta fitted dropped waist and full skirt, bolero, taffeta and tulle petticoat, panty, hose, black high heel shoes. Commentary: Absolutely gorgeous face coloring, blushed hands and deep auburn hair, crisp costume. Hat and shoes are vintage replacements. This Cissy dress from 1955, has not been washed, and the fabric has nice body and vibrant color. Its only issue is “flea bits” in the organdy of the left sleeve and some scattered “flea bits” on the skirt, mainly on the right front up toward the waist. Have no idea what caused this, but this was the condition when I bought it. As with most of my Cissy dresses, this one was stored and never used by me for display. Its snaps are secure (3), and the little black velvet bows on the shoulders are in very nice condition. The tag is in excellent condition. The dress has black belt loops and probably had a belt at one time. It now has a silky satin ribbon to tie in a bow at the waist. The skirt is ultra full. The sleeve elastic has relaxed slightly, but they still have nice puff. I have photo’d the flaws. In one pic, there is a mark showing near the hem on the skirt that is actually a little crease that needs to be pressed out. The “flea bites” on the organdy sleeve are really enhanced by the camera, but do not stand out on the doll. Even with these imperfections, it is still a lovely dress to have in your Cissy’s wardrobe. If you have questions or want additional photos, please le me know. My home is non-smoking, and there are no odor issues with the dress. The Cissy doll modeling is not included. She’s very hard to find in this condition. Her rich golden blonde hair is the iconic Cissy bob with spit curl bangs, that epitomized the working girl. Her sparkly, clear eyes are mostly still blue and the whites have not yellowed. Her creamy complexion, with high color blush, eye shadow, and satiny red lips, is to die for!!! She’s an infused face, which many collectors prefer as it has a certain translucence that’s hard to match. Her stringing is perfect for posing beautifully in any outfit you desire. She can even stand by herself if you balance her just right! Her arm and body color still match beautifully, so she can wear those revealing outfits without a problem. She’ll come to you in her original secretary outfit, consisting of a white organdy pin tucked blouse trimmed with Valenciennes lace, black felt jacket and circle skirt, who’s elastic is unstretched. Underneath she wears a batiste slip and original panties. Her thigh high stockings are a really fine replacement. Her original black high heeled sandals are a bit stretched as is so often the case. Oh, and let’s not forget her flirty little hat!!! It’s original, and in my opinion the pièce de ré·sis·tance of the whole outfit. It’s very hard to find. She will come with her original black hat box. It will need a new cord. She’s free of splits, cracks, and mold. That being said, she’s vintage 1957, so please don’t expect perfection at her age… She will show signs of age and wear. She comes from my spotless, not smoking studio.
