DESCRIPTION: This is a strung Madame Alexander Kins doll. She is the heavier type made in 1953. Eyes open/close on their own. Arms do hold a pose. She does have marks/scuffs, and needs cleaning. Her hair is somewhat stiff where it touches her head. I think it just needs a good soak. U sed, played with condition. That gives you a total of 8 days to pay. DESCRIPTION: This is a Madame Alexander Kins doll in original tagged outfit. She is a 1954 Alice in Wonderland. She has original bow in her hair. Arms do hold a pose. Walker works, but barely. Dress & pinafore have some creases from storage. Shoes have the fuzzy bottoms and have some wear. She is one of the prettiest I’ve seen. Doll stand not included. U sed, played with condition. 6 of the dolls are SLW and 1 is a BKW all are in good but not mint condition. I will try my best to explain each doll and any issues I see. Red Haired SLW with good color but her arms and legs seem a little darker then the rest of her body and her hair need styling. Red Haired SLW is really pretty with great color and she would have been good enough to sell on her own but her head spins all the way around. I have never seen this before and she displays beautifully but she does have the head issue. Besides that she is a great doll. Tosca SLW with some color to her cheeks but not as bright as some. Tosca SLW with high cheek color that has been professionally redone. Blonde 1955 SLW with some color to her cheeks but not as bright as some. Brunette BKW who is very pretty and would have been a good doll to sell alone had it not been for the red staining on her torso. This of course would be covered by a dress but is there none the less. All together this is a really nice lot of earlier Alexander Kins that will look great redressed if you don’t mind some slight imperfections. This doll is listed as the “Easter” doll in the Alexander Kins book and I have never seen a mention of “Behind the Bush” but I believe it is absolutely correct to the doll. I believe that calling her “Behind the Bush” relates to Easter and her finding eggs or her basket behind the bush during an Easter egg hunt. Could it get any cuter then that? The strung doll is absolutely stunning with bright coloring, beautiful shiny hair and a lovely all over complexion. Her body is in good condition with no splits to the plastic. Her outfit is so cute and the color is still a nice deep pink. Under her beautiful organdy pinafore she has rumba bloomers with a grommet. The ties from the dress go through the grommet in the bloomers and then go through the grommets on the pinafore and tie in a bow. She has on a darling lace hat that is different then the one in the book but correct for the year. She also wears white top stitch shoes that are in good condition but do show some darker areas from age. My favorite part is her basket with cotton spun chick. Both of which are in great condition. The box is in fair shape but I think the rarity of the name on the box makes up for it. I think she is a wonderful find that will be a star in your collection! This doll can be seen on p. 28 of Smith’s “The World of Alexander-kins” although it is shown with a different hat. This beautiful doll is a strung, non-walker. She has no cracks, stains, or seam separations in her hard plastic. Her all original facial coloring is spectacular! She has clear eyes and beautifully blushed cheeks. One eyebrow is light but I don’t think it detracts in any way. To me her coloring is just fantastic and she is even prettier in person. She has a very pretty triple stitch wig in original set and is a beautiful red color. The outfit itself is just beautiful. It consists of the dress, hat, slip, panties, socks, and absolutely perfect white top stitch fuzzy bottom shoes. The dress is a lovely shade of light blue. The organdy has held up nicely and still looks very good. The white net arms are still very white and the elastic is still nice and tight. There are no holes or stains in the dress. Under the dress is an beautiful perfect pink taffeta slip with a perfect pair of matching pink pantaloons. The slip has nice tight stretch and the pink color is still so pink. The pantaloons are equally as nice and the color is fantastic on them as well. The matching hat is very pretty and the white straw and flowers are in terrific shape. Lastly she has on a perfect white pair of top stitch shoes. These shoes show no wear, are still very white and are just outstanding. All together she is one special Alexander-kin!
