This is Madame Alexander’s Maggie doll with a Kathy outfit. Maggie is 14 tall and is a strung doll. The dress does not have its tag, but is definitely M. Usually seen in other colors. The dress has square snaps. The stiff half slip may have been added. She has very thick floss hair pigtails. Shoes are vintage, but I don’t believe they are original. Maggie, as usual, is not marked. The doll stand and her bag of spices are not included. Only smell I detect is a hard plastic smell, not sour, down her neck. This 18 beauty is wearing her original dress, a beautiful off-white front-pleated shirt-waist with three burgundy studs down the front placket, & two at the cuff of each puffed sleeve. One stud is missing on the back of the right sleeve. Maggie’s pretty belt is replaced with the same color as the original, and the original crocheted hanky peeks out from the front pocket. Dress closure is at the back with three square snaps. This dress has some very, very slight age darkening, but as you can see by the photos it’s close to invisible. There are no rips, holes or tears and the dress is crisply tagged Maggie. Underneath Maggie wears nylon panties, and on her feet are her original socks & shoes. There is a hole in the heel of the right sock – completely inside her shoe. Maggie has an exquisite face… Her features & coloring are beautiful; her blush has been refreshed. She has a very rare colored wig – brunette with a splash of burgundy… Which of course matches her dress accessories! Thank you for looking! Beautiful original face coloring with lovely complexion, rosy cheeks and bright red lips. Pretty reddish-brown hair in the original set. She has on her original clothing. Her dress has long sleeves that are separate from the dress, but are connected to the dress by elastic. She is a strung doll and is about 14.5 tall. Pretty hair is in its original set, but there is some uneven coloring. All whites of dress and flowers have browned with age. As you can see her dress has many scattered brown age spots. No tag on dress. When I hold her close and smell her, there is a light odor. I have not noticed it when displayed. On a scale of 0-10 with 0 being no odor and 10 being a disgusting odor, I would rate her a 1-2. She has some scattered brown spots on her body that may or may not clean? I have not tried cleaning her. Please view all photos carefully. Use the photos to help determine the condition. I will point out all that I see, but if you have any questions, please ask and I will take another look. Madame Alexander Maggie Mix Up Doll, 14″, in Original Outfit, Red Hair 1961 Maggie Mix Up is a 14″ hard plastic and vinyl doll with straight red hair wig (although not quite straight in the back because of storage in the box and with a few fly-away hairs), working sleep eyes with lashes, full red lips, blush to her cheeks, and freckles. She is jointed at the elbows, knees, and ankles. She has all her pink fingernail polish. She is marked MME. /Alexander to her back. She has tight stringing and a clean body. Maggie is dressed for an afternoon out in a cotton tagged Maggie white blouse trimmed with ricrac and full light blue skirt trimmed with ribbons. Her blouse is a little surface dusty from age/storage, maybe a little less than as white as it should be but not bad. Her nylon slip is crisp and lace-trimmed. She wears blue tights and low slip-on shoes. There is a hat trimmed with flowers around part of the crown but seems to be a tad too small for Maggie’s comfort–it perches on top of her head. Maggie was made for only two years. She does come in the bottom only–no top–of her original age worn/faded box. I have not laundered the blouse or don’t anything to the doll. She is in very nice condition, no smells; she looks like she was never played with, just stored but lost the lid for the box somewhere in time. Just Exactly How Cute Can One Maggie Get? Pretty cute, according to THIS little gal. She’s wearing her tagged 2 piece cotton floral skirt & white organdy blouse. Rhinestones are sprinkled on the waistband & front of the snap-closure skirt, and the tagged blouse has lace-trimmed puffed sleeves & closes at the back with two buttons. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no holes, rips or tears. This near mint ensemble has velvet trim to match her tam, buttons at the front and appears to have never been on a doll until these pictures were taken. Underneath Maggie wears cotton panties with lace trim, and on her feet are her original socks & center snap black shoes. Maggie is beautiful, with lovely features & coloring. Madame Alexander Arlene Dahl Doll. I’m not sure if she’s unmarked, or if her markings are. Hidden under her wig. She’s in rough shape. She’s not broken but she has various marks on her body and face. I have not tried to clean her, other than wiping her off, gently, with a damp washcloth. Her eyes still function. Her hair is in the original style, however she has what appears to be moth chews on her wig. She has discoloration on one ear, the other ear has her original earring, which is tarnished. The outer layer of her dress is sun faded. It also has moth chews, the lining seems to be disintegrating, the snaps are all intact but are loose and there are loose threads along the back of the bodice. The under layer is in better condition. Also included is a slip/underwear combo which is probably discolored from age but is free of holes. Her shoes show wear, her stockings have a few small holes not visible when she’s dressed. She’s looking for a home that can help her get back to the beauty that she was. Items pictured are the exact items you will receive. We are a smoke free home. A lovely redhead, this Maggie Mixup Alexander-kins bent knee walker doll has been in our family for many years as a member of a special aunt’s collection of treasured dolls. We are now finding homes for Ruth’s special dolls where they will be loved and cared for. Ruth now resides in a special memory care unit, and her precious dolls are now a great part of providing the unique care she needs. This little Maggie Mixup has always been stored in her box. Her hard plastic body of So-Lite plastic is eight inches tall and is jointed at the neck, shoulders, hips and knees. Her head turns as her legs move in a “walking” motion. Maggie’s pretty red saran hair is in the original set… Shoulder-length, straight, with bangs in front. Her hair is slightly flattened in the back from storage positioning. Her clear blue sleep eyes work properly, and her facial coloring is perfect. Noted was information that later dolls as Alexander-kins of the same face and name had different color eyes. Maggie’s clothing has never been removed. She is wearing a floral striped white dotted swiss dress with yellow flowers and green leaves. The sleeveless dress has a scooped neckline and is gathered at the waist. Green ric rac trims the neckline, armholes and hem of the dress, and he dress closes at the back bodice with two small snaps. A green satin ribbon accents the waist and ties in a bow in the back. Her panties match her dress and have an elastic waist and elastic legs. Short white knit socks, black velvet ankle strap Mary Janes, and a white wide-brimmed straw hat with yellow velvet flowers and green leaves complete Maggie’s ensemble. On the dress tag… Alexander-kins by Madame Alexander REG. Her Madame Alexander wrist tag was attached to her right wrist with a piece of light green ribbon. The hole on the back flap of the tag is torn, and the tag was positioned to hang. You can see this in the photos. I do not want to tear the hole any further making it impossible for you to reattach it. The label on the end of the box notes MAGGIE MIXUP 500 and has curled-up corners. There is a second label under this Maggie Mixup label. Under one corner I can read Little. I feel confident that this addition of a second label happened within Madame Alexander facilities. She is completely original & is wearing one of the lesser-seen versions of the Alice Costume… The tagged puff-sleeved blue cotton dress has tiny white polka dots, and the crispy white organdy pinafore has a beautiful curved bodice without shoulder straps. The dress has a small black velvet bow mid-Peter Pan collar, and closes at the back with three white buttons. The pinafore ties with a large bow.
