MADAME ALEXANDER HARD PLASTIC PRISTINE, MAGGIE TEENAGER WITH PINK CURLER BOX! CIRCA: PRIOR TO LAST MID CENTURY; 1940s HEIGHT: 18 INCHES/45.72CM 5 PIECE STRUNG, HARD PLASTIC, CHILD-LIKE BODY THAT CAN HOLD A POSE. BOX, BUT IT’S IN POOR CONDITION This particular Maggie in her heavy, gabardine, mauve colored dress with lace hankerchief has always been my favorite. She reminds me of Mary with her blond curls (who played Little Bo Peep) in the 1934 movie Christmas classic, Babes in Toyland with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The highlights of this doll includes her super, shiny, blond Dynel wig in tight crimp curls and rolled bangs! She has a gold, embossed barrette on either side with velvet flowers. Maggie has a matte, suntan complexion with nice cheek color! She has huge, doe eyes with vibrant lower painted, corner eyelashes! She has thick, long, upper sable eyelashes with feathered eye brows. Maggies dress sports a square, pique collar. Her bodice is accented with tiny, pearl covered, buttons. Her pique, pointed cuffs are detailed with cuff links! Her waistline is accented with a leatherette, brass buckle belt! Her whirly, pleated skirt is detailed with a pocket, where she keeps her original, embroidered, lace handkerchief! Her heavy, gabardine dress is pristine except for some minor patina near her cuff links. Tag in the rear reads, Maggie, Madame Alexander, New York, U. Her muslin petticoat has attached panties with a square snap in the rear. Its embellished with wide, Swiss-dotted, scalloped trim! Her original, stiff, black cloth shoes are in excellent condition with gold cord and heels attached! Forgive flash glares showing as white spots on photos. Thanks for stopping by! Beautiful all original dressed 17″-18″ Vintage Madame Alexander Maggie Walker doll! Odors- I do not detect any strong offensive odors. Stringing- Her arms are tight and hold poses with a new band. Her legs are a little loose but her walker works good. Head – Clean, no stains or major marks. There is a little faint glue residual glue at right edge of wig if you pull her hair back. Hair – Hair is clean, thick and in original set with a few fly aways. She has her original red ribbons and hair pins in place. Makeup/Paint – Lips are red and original. Cheeks are bright and original. Eyes – Eyes are clear, clean and a very pretty blue. They open and close easily. Eyelashes are full thick and straight. Body- and limbs are clean and free of stains, no cracks to seams, minimal scuffing and play wear. Clothing She wears her original clothing that is pictured in her booklet. Dress is taggged Maggie Walker, coat is tagged Madame Alexander. All seams and snaps intact. No holes or tears. There are no stains. Taffeta dress is clean, color even and bright, fabric is crisp/stiff. Cuffs and collar are probably a tad off white. Rhinestone buttons intact, nice button holes. Full slip is clean, no damage. There is one snap missing at waist, Matching panties are clean and nice. Both have good fabric sizing. There are a couple faint spots of fading to outer shell if you look closely. Red lining is clean and bright with even color. Seams and buttons intact. Hard to find red velvet beret/tam hat is clean, lovely color. I don’t see any wear to velvet. Elastic band still has good elasticity. Socks are clean but do have some light age yellowing. Black shoes are excellent, no damage. Her curler box is complete with curlers, no major damage She comes with her original wrist hang tag that still has original string, very nice condition, I don’t see any damage. Madame Alexander Maggie Teennager Blonde Hair 21 Hard Plastic, 1940′s. This lovely Maggie is in excellent condition. The beautiful face is very vibrant. Her blue/hazel eyes are clear, open and shut perfectly, and the eyelashes are full and all present. Maggie’s chartreuse color dress and hair bows are original. The one piece panty/slip, shoes and socks are original as well. The yellow “hand knit” sweater, and vintage straw purse were added. The doll has no spots, odors, cracks, or open seams. She is from my collection. She is a very pretty doll. She is 20 tall and is a strung doll (not a walker). She has a “mohair” wig which is in it’s original set. Her coloring is nice and she has all her lashes – I think she is a beautiful doll and I have enjoyed having her in my collection for many years now. She has her “snood” on her hair in back – she was a ballerina when in her original clothes. So – her dress and shoes are not original – panties are missing. The dress is appropriate, although not original. It fits her well and is in crispy like new condition – it has never been laundered and has no stains or flaws.
