Madame Alexander Dolls

Here is Cissy’s lavender taffeta dress and matching bolero jacket with straw hat #2143 from 1957. The pieces are crisp and do not appear to have ever been washed. The dress and jacket do look to have been ironed but done very nicely. This taffeta fades so easy but I do not see any evidence of uneven coloring to either piece. I do not see any staining. Only the couple of little black dots near the hem in one spot I have shown in the photo. The dress is missing three of the lilly flower at the bodice but not extremely noticeable. These old silk flowers are becoming very delicate. All snaps are in place and tight. You can see the tag in the photo. The hat is in nice condition. The flowers look mostly complete. There looks to be a few lilies missing in two spots. You really won’t notice unless looking closely. There is also a hole in the netting of the hat so it is not perfect. The netting shows in the book up around the hat and not over her face. So again, you really won’t notice it. The slip is not a Cissy slip but it is vintage and goes nicely with the outfit. With all the little things said, this will display nicely on a doll. After all this time, how many outfits will remain mint I wonder. Please check the photos carefully and ask any questions. For sale is a vintage jointed Madame Alexander Cissy doll. She was an Estate Sale find so I dont know much about her. 20 inches tall, jointed rubber arms, jointed hard plastic legs, green eyes (think they are suppose to open and close but they do not, some eyelashes missing from left eye), earring holes. I believe her wig/hair color is auburn or red. Hair need a bit of styling, some very light soiling on her arms I will leave cleaning up to her new owner. She comes with; panties, bra, lacey half slip, pair of nylons, pair of lacy gloves, pair of black shoes, watch pin, bracelet with faux diamonds (broke when I took it off her wrist, can be fixed it is an elastic band), long pink nightgown? With lace bodice Cissy tag inside, 2 piece pant outfit jacket has Cissy tag inside pants do not, 2 piece skirt outfit skirt has Cissy tag inside jacket does not, navy blue silky dress with white straw hat dress has Cissy tag inside. Dress has a small hole on bodice and 1 seam also needs some repair. All the other clothes are in good condition, not perfect need ironing and you may find a mark or two. Please Note, the message was sent to me about the multi-colored skirt & I thought I would post it. Like I said this doll lot is an Estate Sale find and I don’t know anything about her. I can tell she has been stored, clothes do need ironing and a little TLC. You are incorrect about the fraying on the skirt. Someone has ironed the skirt with a too hot iron and the gold foil has become very frayed. It is not supposed to hang a bottom. The threads have loosened from the fabric. It is a problem and not part of design of the fabric. The skirt has been mishandled… I DO NOT CONTROL THE POST OFFICE! I have no control over their prices. This is a gorgeous 17 tall 1950′s Alexander Violet doll for your collection. She is in mint condition with her original tagged clothes. Box hand tag and brochure. She has been in this box since she was given as a gift many years ago. She has no odors, stains, cracks or damage. She is tightly strung and does hold a pose. She does have the rubber band dent on the bangs. Clothes have never even been removed. She is in her “Violet” marked box. It is sturdy, except for the top, it is missing some of the edges. She has no cracks at all. Not at the top of her thighs or at the seams by her knees….. Her coloring is absolutely flawless… She has no odors…. Composite dolls manufactured in the 1930s by the American company Madame Alexander, depicting Marie, Emilie, Cecile, Annette, and Yvonne Dionne. Each approximately 11 inches. I have had these dolls most of my life. My Dad was an antique dealer and he brought me home these dolls when I was about 3 or 4, sometime prior to 1970 I did play with them, carefully, and I loved them. When they lie down their eyes close and then open when they sit back up. I always liked that. They have little leather shoes with real snaps! Only 2 of them have their shoes, and only one still has her socks, the other three have lost theirs. Each one has a different colored little dress with matching bonnet. These are all present. They also still have their sweet undergarments. The green dress looks a little torn, the others seem o. They are delicate and fragile so I don’t want to handle them too much. In the box with them were also several dolls dresses, approximately 9 or 10, including two tutu like ones. These are all in rough wrinkled shape and need refreshening. I think some of them could be greatly improved with proper bleaching and washing, (especially the white linen ones). I will include these with this listing with the 5 large dolls. Please note, they are in rough condition. These come in little onesie sacks. This listing is only for the set of 5 larger, 11 dolls. I have kept them stored carefully in a box for years and its time they find a new home where they can be loved again. Please see my other listings for the set of five 7 dolls. I think these are pretty good for their age and fact that they are dolls which people play with. The head on the one in the pink dress is a little loose, but the others seem o. They are so cute! The dresses are wrinkled and have some stains from age. The green dress has a tear. Welcome to my closet. This is such a pretty doll that is in very good condition. Jackie has beautiful hair that is shiny and perfectly set. She has beautiful coloring that is bright and lovely. Her dress is in great condition and there are no tears, holes. The coat is also beautiful with no stains, holes, tears or odors. Under the dress is a perfect pair of bloomers and with nice tight stretch to the elastic. Cissette’s hose are in good condition and she is wearing gold sling back heels that have stretched some but still stay on her foot. Lastly Jackie is wearing a darling yellow hat made of tulle that is in excellent condition with no issues to report. All together this is a lovely doll that is sure to please.
