Madame Alexander Dolls

Here today is an absolutely adorable BKW Madame Alexander-Kins doll wearing her all original complete tagged “Wendy Goes Ice Skating” outfit made in 1956. Wendy has a perfect uncombed strawberry blonde wig that is in its original set with 3 row stitching. It appears her hat has never been off until I took the pictures. She has crystal clear gray-blue sleep eyes that open and close perfect with vivid painted lower lashes. She has beautiful painted red lips but has lost most of her blush. The only skin blemish I can see is under her chin there is a faint pink transfer, not bad and you don’t see it unless she is without her hat lying down on her back, assuming from the pink ribbon on the hat for so many years. Wendy can stand on her own and hold poses great, her legs are a tad loose but no problem at all standing. She is wearing her all original complete adorable tagged skating outfit. I can find no issues with her outfit. The colors of turquoise and pink are vivid with no stains, no tears, no fading, no discoloration and no odors. The little long sleeved pink tagged romper closes in the back with 2 original intact snaps. The skating skirt has a pink elastic waist band that is great with pink rickrack at the hem. The darling little pixie hat has tiny little pink button embellishments, pink rickrack, with a cluster of bright pink silk bows at the tip, closing under her chin with bright pink silk ribbons. She is wearing faux suede off white ice skates with fuzzy bottoms under the blades. Wendy and her precious outfit are too cute to put into words, the pictures speak for themselves. This beautiful Madame Alexander doll is called Arlene Dahl from 1952. I understand a similar doll with blonde hair was called Pink Champagne in the 1951 portrait group. She has red hair and green eyes. Her dress is not tagged. The flowers on her dress are in lovely condition. Her shoes may not be original and she has no stockings. Her dress, panties, necklace, earrings, shoes and hair net are all in good condition. She has some finish loss on her finger tips, a spot on the top of her right forearm, the tops of her thighs on the back of her legs, and the top of her shoulders (see photos). Her sleep eyes dont automatically open, you have to open them for her. Her face paint is in good condition, and she has all her eyelashes. Her hair is in great condition. Her joints are tight. She comes with a newer box labeled Pink Champagne. She is in good condition for her age and would be a great addition to your doll collection. She comes from a smoke free home. The dress is in excellent condition, fabric maintains it’s original finish and the fabric and tag are crisp. She also is wearing a pink taffeta slip, nylons, panties(may be not be original, but are the right vintage and style) and original pink Cissy shoes with flower decorations. She is still wearing her original drop pearl earrings and she carries a straw handbag. Her hair is in a curled ponytail at the nap of her neck. She has her metal bar on her head and a lovely pink satin ribbon above her curls. She has a lovely complexion and full lashes. There are no cracks inside her legs. I have included several pictures to show the condition. I’ve done my best to describe this as accurately as possible. Please study the pictures closely, as I will show pictures of nearly every part possible. Comes from non-smoking home. Whenever I can, I start low without reserve. Marked Alexander on the back of the neck. Measures about 19 tall. Hair and face are in excellent condition. Some scuff marks on legs and body and dust marks on hands in crevices. She is amazingly nearly complete. She comes with the following. Gold brocade gown in excellent condition(no stains, tears, odors, mends, etc) tagged. It could use some freshening. Pale blue banner with original trims. The elastic us stretched and 1 elastic is separated from the shoe. Jeweled crown (loose) exc. Jeweled bracelet on left arm. Rhinestone “necklace” wrapped on her right arm doubled to be a bracelet. I think it is her original necklace. The pearls are not original. One on right arm has tiny mend. Elastic very slightly stretched. Taffeta lace trimmed panties. Ring on left hand finger. Cissy’s body is in exc. Condition; no splits, stains or loose joints, eyes clear and functioning, face paint gorgeous and there has been no retouch, hair is in original set but could use some sprucing up, and eyelashes all there.
