Thank you for your patience. THIS IS A PREMIER YEAR CISSY DOLL—MADE IN 1955–with FULL ORIGINAL RARE REDHEAD WIGORIGINAL STYLE HAIRDO with curled bangs. SUCH A THICK FULL WIG! It is as if Miss Cissy knows she is a “FIRST EVER SHAPELY SILHOUETTE FASHION DOLL”. Without the flat chest of Miss Binnie. MADAME ALEXANDER STEPPED OUT IN FAITH—FAITH THAT AMERICA WAS READY FOR CISSY! A FAST FAVORITE of Doll Collectors. With BENDING ELBOWS (soon to be inherited by Miss Elise two years later). VINYL ARMS with FINGERS THAT CAN HOLD THINGS. HARD PLASTIC HEAD & TORSO & LEGS with BENDING KNEES & HIGH-HEEL FEET! Yes, a SHAPELY SILHOUETTE + SHAPELY LEGS + HIGH ARCHED FEET = SUCCESS! Her face was similar to Miss Binnie—but with a more SERIOUS SWEETNESS—SOFT SUPPLE CHEEKS & STRAIGHTER “PUG” NOSE—PERFECTLY HAND PAINTED RED LIPS! AND IRIDESCENT SLEEP EYES with demure double-stroke brows & delicate under eye lashes. Wonderfully radiating “AQUA & GOLD” TINTED EYES with definite dark pupils (difficult to photograph—better in person). MISS CISSY IS NOT MINT—she has a few TINY NOSE NICKS—barely visible with the naked eye but do show up in the high definition camera photo. And a VERY FEW MISSING EYE LASHES on her right eye—please see closeup of her lying down. Her KNEES HAVE NO SPLITS OR CRACKS. CISSY DOES HAVE A SPLIT IN HER RIGHT UPPER LEG that has been filled. She has RUBS ON HER LEG JOINTS. It is very difficult to match the vintage doll paint. It is much lighter that the paint once it dries. It appears to “match perfectly” but then dries darker. Miss Cissy has been TIGHTLY RESTRUNG by her former Doll Collector Owner. Her head is VERY SNUG but can be COAXED INTO POSES. MISS CISSY HAS THE WIDE HIPS like the EARLY ELISE DOLLS—so her ankles need to be gently tied together when she sits—otherwise she sits with her legs spread wide apart—not very Ladylike—BUT A SIGNATURE FEATURE OF THE 1955 PREMIER CISSY DOLLS. Her arms interestingly enough can extend or pose very close to her body—hugging herself. “THE CISSY SUCCESS” CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO A GORGEOUS GIRL DRESSED IN A WONDERFUL WARDROBE! In keeping with this EXCEPTIONAL STANDARD OF ELEGANCE—THIS “BRAMBLE & TWIG” CUSTOM “MADE FOR CISSY” GOWN has been chosen specifically for this Little Lady. To compliment her redhead wig. SHE IS MARKED “ALEXANDER” ON BACK IN NECK. SHE HAS GREEN EYES AND A FULL SET OF LASHES IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. HER PAINT IS STILL VIBRANT WITH NO TOUCH UPS, HER LIPS PERFECT, HER BODY HAS NO CRACKS OR ISSUES. HER CLOTHING IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. 21-inch Madame Alexander Carmen from the Portrait doll Ladies of Fashion series first made in 1938 and again in post-war 1946. These dolls are famous for their hand-painted facial features: arched brows, black eyeliner, long painted lashes, blue eyeshadow above the eye and on the lids of the sleeping eyes and deep red lips. This lady also has a hand painted star beauty mark on her cheek. The dark brunette wig is styled with a thick braid atop her head and a bun at the nape of her neck. She wears her all original costume of a red dress with black lace trim, light pink cotton petticoat and matching pantie. Shoes are a matching red fabric. Bead and gold hoop earrings and fabric roses attached to the dress accessorize her outfit. Her black, not net mantilla is missing. The composition is in very good condition for one of these dolls which often have suffered over time. She only has fine craze lines on the face, some on the sides of the head, and deeper crazing on the leg. Please study the photos. Please read entire description Up for your consideration is The Opera coat and dress outfit(I believe it’s from 1956-58) For the 21 Madame Alex. The dress is lovely, bright and crisp dark Aqua satin , it’s tagged and in excellent to n. Mint condition, no damage that I can find, there is a tiny area that looks a little yellowed by the top of the right chest dart, but very faint, and hard to notice… Full skirt, no broken stitches, 4 snaps all good and working, crisp tag. It’s lined with a very fine aqua sheer cotton.. The coat is in good displayable shape, but not mint(see photos), no rips, but there is a stain(bow at collar covers it) and a few sprinkles of tiny stains under the right sleeve area on the side of the coat. The coat overall needs pressing or steaming, there is a silver decoration around the cuffs of the coat.. The shoes are tlc, and need new elastic and repair, there’s one stocking that’s been repaired.. From a non-smoking, pet-free home.. Please ask questions, I’m happy to answer.. Here is a very pretty 18 Scarlett O’hara. She is all original. The only thing I’m not sure about is her socks. She has all hair (human hair). All eyelashes appear to be there but some look a little shorter than others (mainly on the outside and inside corners). Her stringing is good. Both eyes are crystallized. She has extremely light crazing on her face only. She is marked MME ALEXANDER on back of head. Eyes open and close as they should. There is a small crack on the bottom of her right buttock and a little paint chip on her left shoulder. Her right shoe is missing its sole. Her dress is tagged. I dont see any holes. The attached slip has a few tiny brown spots/stains. International buyers are welcome. The item “Gorgeous! Stunning 1954 Madame Alexander 20 HP & Vinyl Cissy Doll in HTF Tagged Evening Gown. She is marked “Alexander” on the back of her head. She has a blonde wig in original set, blue glass sleep eyes with full upper lashes, a closed mouth and blushing cheeks. Her facial coloring is excellent. She is jointed at neck, shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. The stringing is fine, she can still hold a pose. There are no cracks or split seams and all of her fingers and toes are intact. She wears her “Cissy” tagged blue heavy slipper satin cap sleeve evening gown with silver braid and sapphire accents, a bandeau of flowers and rhinestones, a nylon & net slip with matching underpants, stockings and heels. The outfit is in excellent condition but does have a tiny tear near the bottom of the “V”on the back of her dress(hard to see, look at last picture). She is missing her ostrich feather fan.
