Madame Alexander Dolls

Featured here is a beautiful “Big Binnie Winnie” Walker doll in a lovely blue gown to compliment her very blue eyes. She stands 24 inches tall without her hat. Her walker mechanism works very well, when you move her legs her head turns nicely from side to side; see photos. She has thick dark brown hair and bangs, no missing hair, in its original set of short shoulder length curls. She has very blue blue eyes and rosy cheeks and rosebud lips. She has all her eye lashes! I just noticed a light dappling across her forehead, not readily noticeable but I did want to mention it. I missed it until I looked closely at one of my photo close-ups. This doll does have joint rubs and a few marks on her legs and arms (see next to last photo) — she is not perfect but in very good condition for her age. I have dressed her in a vintage doll outfit, complete with picture hat and flower basket. This is a very sweet doll in a lovely outfit with wonderful accessories, for the vintage doll collector. Her dress and slips have been laundered and pressed; they are very clean. There is no odor at all with this doll. This brunette beauty is dressed in a lovely long blue cotton gown with puffed sleeves, good elastic in the sleeves, and lace trimmed ruffles and skirt. She has a nosegay of flowers tied at her waist with a long satin ribbon. There is one tiny dark spot on her dress, behind her basket, which did not come out in washing. Otherwise the dress and slips are in very good condition for their age. She carries a vintage wicker basket with vintage flowers in it, which comes with a pink ribbon to tie to her wrist. She also wears a very rare vintage necklace of GRADUATED PEARLS; this necklace has a tiny rhinestone clasp like those found on bride necklaces in the 1950s, with a slip in and slide metal hook at the back of her neck. Beneath her skirt she has two long formal length slips, one is white cotton and edged in the same lace as the dress; the other is a stiff tulle with many layers of lace. The latter is very full and stiff and gives the dress and other slip a lot of strut. The tulle slip has an elastic tie at the waist; the cotton slip is held closed with a large pin. She also wears a pair of lovely white cotton pantaloons with tiny blue bows and edged in light blue heart lace; she wears vintage white Fairyland rubber shoes with side straps, with their rubber nubs intact to button closed. These shoes have been soaked and bleached and are very clean. Her large Southern Belle hat is a vintage straw with yellow velvet bow and ribbon and vintage forget me not flowers and roses. It fits her head well and can be posed straight or on an angle as shown in the photos — to frame her lovely face. Her vintage brunette wig under her hat is very full and thick and beautiful so this doll can be displayed nicely with her hat on or with her hat carried in her hand, as shown in the photos. Wendy – Dressed for a Summer Morning for the Discriminating Collector. Wendy is Dressed for a Summer Morning. 8 Madame Alexander, #424 Wendy.. Produced in 1955, she is a bent knee walker with the Wendy Ann face and marked ALEX on her back.. Her face paint is all original and she has very bright rosy cheeks. She has blue flirty eyes and her walking mechanism works fine. Wendy is wearing her original outfit which consists of a tagged lime green cotton dress with a floral cotton pinafore and lime green panties. She has fuchsia original shoes with fuzzy bottoms and wears rayon socks. She has her original wrist tag To: All Little Girls Everywhere, and her booklet from 1955 showing her photo and others created that year. This doll also came with a perky hairdo but mine has the traditional flip and is exactly as I bought her mint in box in 1991! She has shiny blonde hair and a triple stitched wig. Original set is perfect. She has lived behind glass in my custom doll room and is from a pet-free, smoke-free home. Dont miss this treasure she is fresh and crisp as the day she was made! Madame Alexander Alexander-kins SLW Doll: Wendy Loves Pinafores. Doll has never been played with and is factory dressed. She has gorgeous color, and crisp clean clothing that’s never been removed from the doll. The only thing I see is one shoe is a little different shade than the other. Thanks for stopping by! Beautiful all original dressed 17″-18″ Vintage Madame Alexander Maggie Walker doll! Odors- I do not detect any strong offensive odors. Stringing- Her arms are tight and hold poses with a new band. Her legs are a little loose but her walker works good. Head – Clean, no stains or major marks. There is a little faint glue residual glue at right edge of wig if you pull her hair back. Hair – Hair is clean, thick and in original set with a few fly aways. She has her original red ribbons and hair pins in place. Makeup/Paint – Lips are red and original. Cheeks are bright and original. Eyes – Eyes are clear, clean and a very pretty blue. They open and close easily. Eyelashes are full thick and straight. Body- and limbs are clean and free of stains, no cracks to seams, minimal scuffing and play wear. Clothing She wears her original clothing that is pictured in her booklet. Dress is taggged Maggie Walker, coat is tagged Madame Alexander. All seams and snaps intact. No holes or tears. There are no stains. Taffeta dress is clean, color even and bright, fabric is crisp/stiff. Cuffs and collar are probably a tad off white. Rhinestone buttons intact, nice button holes. Full slip is clean, no damage. There is one snap missing at waist, Matching panties are clean and nice. Both have good fabric sizing. There are a couple faint spots of fading to outer shell if you look closely. Red lining is clean and bright with even color. Seams and buttons intact. Hard to find red velvet beret/tam hat is clean, lovely color. I don’t see any wear to velvet. Elastic band still has good elasticity. Socks are clean but do have some light age yellowing. Black shoes are excellent, no damage. Her curler box is complete with curlers, no major damage She comes with her original wrist hang tag that still has original string, very nice condition, I don’t see any damage. She’s wearing a gorgeous Lemon Tulle dress that is wrapped at the waist to create an attached sash. It is accented with a garland swag of pink and white flowers at the waist and at the neck. She is wearing the original velvet ribbon in her hair which is in an updo with separate bangs. Cissy has pierced ears, a rhinestone bracelet and a ring. Everything that is on the doll is original, not replaced. The doll has no cracks, splits, or stains, not even at the knees or at the hip. She has simply gorgeous coloring with sparkling blue eyes and all her eyelashes. The hair is in original set and its lovely. The bow is just perfect and completes the hairstyle excellently. The dress was hard to photograph and it is actually a more vibrant yellow in person. The dress is just stunning and it sits out so nice and full. The flowers are excellent and show very little age. On the right side in back of the flowers are two areas of damage to the tulle. I believe that it is possible the wire of the flowers caught in the tulle when it was being stored which caused the tears. I’ve photographed this for you to see. Luckily, these areas do tuck into the dress nicely since the tulle is so full. Unless you pull the tulle out and look for it, the tears will never be seen when displaying this lovely doll. I’ve also shown a close-up of how this looks folded in which is the next to the last photo shown. As stated above the yellow color is prettier in person. In the folds the color is a little brighter in some places but it is not overly. And does not detract from the beauty of the dress. Under the dress Cissy wears the correct yellow bloomers and slip. The elastic did relax with age so I have pinned the slip in the back and now it stays up perfectly. The bloomers stay up just fine with out the need for pinning. The hose are in great shape and Cissy comes with beautiful gold heels. The heels are in really good condition with just the slightest relaxation to the elastic. Lastly Cissy’s wears beautiful all original rhinestone jewelry. The earrings have a beautiful shine and are just so fancy! The ring is in excellent condition as is the bracelet and both have nice shiny rhinestones that have not dulled. All together this is such a stunning doll that will stand out in your collection. This is an estate sale find. She is in great shape but has a few issues. There is a small mark above her right eyebrow (not sure it shows in the pics) as well as a couple of marks on her left leg. Her dress appears to have been washed/ironed but there are no rips or tears. She has beautiful silver fuzzy bottom shoes that lace up with silver cording. The same cording is used to close the dress in the back. She is a straight-leg walker that’s a little loose but over all not bad. Also included is her organdy panties and slip. Her crown is all original and looks like it has never been removed. Her cheek color is good. Item is from a smoke-free and pet-friendly environment. This is a darling little doll with blonde triple stitch wig that is shiny and nice and tight to her head. She has original coloring, nice overall skin tone and no cracks or stains to her body. Her outfit is in very good condition. The pink dress is a nice pink color and has not yellowed like so many that I have had in the past. There are a few very small light brown marks on the back of the dress that do not distract but are there none the less. Besides that the dress if free of stains, holes or odors. Under the dress she wears the a slip and bloomers. The slip is a little stretched but still stays up and the bloomers are in good shape. Her gold shoes and socks are in nice condition and show little wear. Lastly is her beautiful hat with blue striped ribbon tie. The hat is a lovely pink color and the flowers are beautiful. The tie is in good condition but may be a little shorter than it was originally however it still ties in a beautiful big bow. Her walking mechanism works when you move her head her legs move. She is not as tightly together as she probably once was when new 61 years ago. Her dress is Taffeta with a yoke of white organza trimmed with pretty lace and tiny attached grommet buttons. The dress has a row of lace attached to the underside of the hem line and also the dress has sleeves edged with lace. She has on her original slip and matching panties in white with lace edging. The dress closes in the back with the original snaps, So cute and fancy. Wendy’s outfit has never been removed from her and is still tagged. On her head is her flower circlet with rosettes and held on with a chin strap. Dress is tag: Alexander kins and has been stitch down. Pictures were taken inside with a flash and as you can see there is variation in the color at the shoulders and around the hem where pinafore didn’t cover.
