Madame Alexander Dolls

These dolls are straight from the original owner (my mother), who received them as a gift in 1936, when she was 4. Have shoes for all 5, and 3 of 5 bonnets. There is also a bonus Cecile (with some actual hair) — guessing this came from some other set. All arms and legs are still attached. This set of Madame Alexander Dionne Quintuplets are from the 1930s. All are composition with swivel head, jointed hips and shoulders. They have bent limb legs, molded hair, painted eyes and are 7in long. They are in there original outfits with socks and shoes and all 5 original name tag pins. As you can see from the pictures the dolls are in good condition but 2 of the dolls have a small crack on the side of there head. Three shoes, 3 socks are missing and 1 shoes strap is broken. Two of the outfits have falling apart with time (see last photo) but the. Other 3 outfits are faded but in good condition. Here today is an elegant all original Queen Elizabeth Cissy doll made by Madame Alexander in 1956. Cissy is wearing her beautiful tagged ivory ribbon patterned satin fabric Queen Elizabeth gown closing in the back with 5 original intact snaps. The skirt portion of the gown is unlined, but she wears her original ivory taffeta hoop slip with attached panties for the added fullness. Attached to the gown is the original blue moire taffeta sash decorated with rhinestones, a medallion with ruby stone, silver shoulder circlet and a pearl circlet attached at the waistline. Cissy is wearing her original fingerless ivory gloves with 3 gold tone stretch bracelets, 2 with clear rhinestones and 1 with clear and ruby rhinestones and her faux diamond ring. She is also wearing her correct original pearl and clear rhinestone earrings and her graduated faux pearl necklace. To complete Cissy’s beautiful outfit she is wearing her seamed nylon stockings and her gold tone elastic strap high heels. Cissy is wearing her ash blonde wig in its beautiful original set. Her hair appears to have never been combed still retaining the hair net on the bottom back curls. She has a gorgeous painted face with beautiful blushed cheeks, stroked brown brows, painted brown lower lashes and tiny red painted lips. Cissy has crystal clear open and close blue/green eyes with her complete full set of hair eyelashes. Although Cissy is free of any unwanted marks anywhere on her she could use a very light sponge bath on her arms and hands. She has the original blush on the back of her hands and knees. I don’t believe she has any joint issues, she can stand and pose on her own. She has all of her fingers and toes and does not have any split or cracked joints. Although Cissy and her Queen outfit are gorgeous that display beautifully the outfit does have some issues. The fingerless gloves have a couple of small holes covered by the bracelets, one of the bracelets has been re-inforced with a gold thread in one area (does have some weak areas), a small hole in the attached panties as shown in the pictures, the hoop slip needs to be reshaped but otherwise great, and the gown has a couple of spots on the skirt portion near the back that blend into the gathers that appear they can probably be cleaned. The sash and gown need to be dry-cleaned as I can not rule out the possibility of being exposed to smoke at some time before I acquired her. I believe I have covered pretty much everything about this absolutely gorgeous Cissy doll and her beautiful Queen outfit but if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will respond ASAP. For your consideration; A beautiful Auburn hair Cissy doll from 1958…. This pretty Cissy retains her original blush and she has clear blue eyes. All eyelashes are present. She has pierced ears and would look pretty with rhinestone studs added. I have placed a vintage red ribbon in her hair. She has no cracks, splits or odors. Her head is a bit loose, although she still poses easily. Her hair retains her original spanner. She has no odors and is from a smoke free, pet free home. Up for your consideration is this beautiful all original Madame Alexander Cissy doll from (I believe) the late 1950′s. She measures 20 inches in height and is dressed in what I think is her original darkish green tulle dress, embellished with little fabric roses and rhinestones. The dress has an underskirt and bodice lining of a finely woven ecru colored fabric. There is a label in the back seam of the underskirt that reads: “Cissy” Madame Alexander. She also has a half slip in a sort of taffeta with the hem lined in a gathered length of the same green tulle as the dress. The elastic of the waist of the half slip has been gathered with an elastic thread, I suppose because the elastic appears to be loose. She is wearing a pair of panties with lace trim at the leg openings. The elastic at the waist of the panties has also been gathered with elastic thread. She has on a pair of nylon stockings. Held up by elastic garters accented with a shiny embellishment. She also is wearing a pearl “necklace” that looks like it is strung on a wire and pearl earrings. She has delicately painted eyebrows, lustrous eyelashes on her working green sleep eyes, a darling upturned nose and lightly painted pouty lips. Her hair may be in need of some styling, but is in pretty good shape considering her age. She is marked on the back of her head “ALEXANDER”. There is a metal “headband ” across the top of her hair which seems to be original. Overall I believe that she is in very good condition, but could probably use a good gentle cleaning. Her stringing is intact and all of her fingers are in good shape, with no chew marks of anything else. I have been asked about any cracks or splits on the doll. Ther are no cracks or splits on her. Her torso is fine (no cracking at the crotch seam) , as are her legs and neck socket. Her panties are so tight on the legs that i wont remove them for fear of damaging her stockings and garters. She is in excellent condition. She is an early strung doll. Included is her original box and hard to find hang tag. Her dress is a bit soiled from storage. I must also note that her panties and slip have a stain from a metal stand she was stored with. She is tightly strung and can hold a pose. She is missing her original shoes. This is an ANTIQUE 1930S COMPOSITION MADAME ALEXANDER DIONNE QUINTUPLETS DOLLS, ORIGINAL CLOTHES, TAGS. This was a wonderful find! They are composition dolls with their original clothes, leather shoes, bonnets & name tags. 3 of the dolls have their bonnets. Each doll has her original dress, leather shoes, slip and bloomers. 4 of the dolls have their original name tags. The dolls are marked Alexander on their backs and each of the dresses retain the original Genuine Dionne Quintuplet Dolls – Madame Alexander cloth tag. One doll still has the original store price tag as well. The joints are somewhat loose, particularly the heads. The arms & legs are a little tighter. The dolls have some crazing from age. One doll’s bloomers have some tears & holes but the rest of the dolls clothes are in great shape and intact. The dolls have some expected age wear but are in VERY NICE condition for their age! Each comes with its own doll stand. The dolls measure 7-1/2 tall. These are FANTASTIC EARLY ANTIQUE MADAME ALEXANDER DOLL COLLECTIBLES! Many items have been in storage and may be a little dusty or need a light cleaning. Please expect wear consistent with age and use.
