Madame Alexander Dolls

This is a One Owner Cissy and she was never played with. Cissy is 20 tall, made of hard plastic except for her arms which are vinyl and she is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. She has beautiful light blonde hair that is a little mushed in the back from laying down for 61 years. She is wearing a tagged black lace chemise with rhinestones and flowers, seamed stockings and mules with flowers. Her hands and knees are blushed and her beautiful blue eyes are clear with full lashes. She has perfect rosy cheeks and red lips. She is a first year Cissy from 1955. She does come in her original box which is marked Cissy, 2100, blonde and blue. The box is not in great shape, however it is original and did keep her safe for 61 years. This is a beautiful doll that is in lovely shape to be the age that she is. Her neck is marked ALEXANDER 36. Underneath that is 59. I can find no manufacture markings on her body. Her dress is tagged Madame Alexander “Janie”. I believe it to be original for her. She is near perfect…. A small light freckle on her left leg just above her socks on her left leg there is a pink area there and one pink area on the upper thigh of the other leg and one in the center of her back just above her waist. I tried to show these in the pictures but the one her back didn’t show in the picture, so I didn’t use it. She has a tiny blue spot at the leg joint where it joins to the torso part of the body. Her hair is bright and shiny and seems to be clean. I’m unsure about the un-even part of the length (But I see the same thing on the Ideal 36 dolls). Her bangs are very nice and full. All of the plugs of her hair seem to be filled and good. Her face has a nice amount of color to her facial features. Light rosy color to cheeks… Eyebrows are beautifully arched and nice color. Lips have full color. Lashes are full and none are missing. Blue eyes with very slight greenish color match her dress. I have tried to describe her to the best of my ability. I’ve looked her over from head to toe and I’m impressed with the 57 year old doll. Her little black patent shoes have McKids incised on the soles. They fit her very well. I’m sure they are a replacement. They are new and in like new condition. Panties are a cotton knit (with a small hole on the inside crotch lining- doesn’t show on the outside) and I’m sure they are a replacement. The socks are a replacement, because they are not 100% cotton. The dress is original to the doll and it is tagged Madame Alexander Janie. It is a turquoise blue with a white Peter Pan collar, with a continuous line of buttons, down the back of the dress and 2 buttons on the front for a buttoned on apron of turquoise and white stripe. All buttons are there. They are buttons of that era and I’m sure they are original. The elastic on the puffed sleeves has been replaced. (not a perfect job), but the sleeves are puffed as they should be. There is one thing to note…. There are some spots on the back of the waist of the dress that have a discoloration. Not extremely noticeable, but they are there. I tried to wash and they didn’t come out. Take a look at the very last picture. I starched and ironed the dress and apron. This is a fabulous strung 1953 first year Madame Alexander-kins Doll. She is in beautiful minty condition with original blonde wig in original set, excellent high face coloring with brown brows, medium blue green eyes that open and close freely, black under lashes, bright pink cheeks with no scuffs or touch-ups and bright red lips. Her body is in excellent tightly strung condition. Alex is wearing her tagged Alice dress, organdy pinafore, Alex undies, excellent fuzzy bottom shoes with rayon socks. This Cissy has beautiful coloring, with nicely blushed cheeks, beautiful lips and full eyelashes. She is free of any cracks and is in overall excellent condition.
